The Product Strategy and Development (PS&D) team forms part of our wider Product team in LGIM, responsible for designing and launching new funds for LGIM. Working closely with many departments within LGIM including Investments, Distribution, Corporate Strategy & Marketing, you'll be managing the development and design of market leading, competitively differentiated and compliant products and propositions across global LGIM’s Institutional and Retail funds and its bundled DC Pension range.

  • Managing the design and delivery of product initiatives to agreed timescales and budgets, keeping key stakeholders aware of progress and highlighting matters for resolution as appropriate
  • Ensuring all product developments (including launches, amendments and closures) are innovative and drive clear customer outcomes, whilst being delivered in a compliant and timely way
  • Managing the delivery of an AUM and revenue generating product proposition strategy that ensures the needs and expectations of identified customer groups are met, complies with industry regulations and mitigates any potential operational and legal risks to which LGIM might be exposed
  • Maintaining a strong awareness of relevant market activity and working closely with product team colleagues to develop specific visions and strategies that contribute to the future strategic direction of the business.
  • Managing the definition, development and delivery of a strategy, ensuring products are launched and maintained according to the Product Development Model and the Product Lifecycle Management framework, so that the needs of the customers are met and in line with Legal & General’s Customer Experience and Treating Customers Fairly policy
  • Undertaking regular analysis of customer, industry and regulatory activity, considering where strategic changes may be required to our existing products and propositions. Driving forward necessary enhancements, developments and changes, providing business cases where necessary to justify expenditure and thereby ensuring the maintenance of a market leading product proposition
  • Developing close working relationships with influencers throughout LGIM, resolving barriers to the achievement of agreed business critical objectives either internally or externally with clients or intermediaries.
  • Experience and knowledge of product and proposition design, of strategy and of client needs within an asset manager and/or advisor or consultancy
  • Detailed knowledge of the international asset management industry including investor types, distributional channels, the competitor landscape and an excellent technical knowledge of investment products is essential
  • Strong technical knowledge of pooled product structures including UCITS and non-UCITS structures across a range of domiciles. Industry awareness of the changing regulatory framework, central clearing, forthcoming UCITS changes, etc. would be desirable
  • Previous experience in establishing, registering, operating and amending pooled funds in a variety of fund domiciles and jurisdictions
  • Commercial awareness of market dynamics, market evolution and of the competitive landscape to ensure that LGIM bundled and unbundled products are well positioned
  • Outstanding stakeholder management skills, ensuring all business areas are bought into the vision and are aligned in working to a common goal
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to negotiate at a senior level, both internally and externally, and to successfully influence meetings that may have senior stakeholders present
  • Excellent presentation skills including the ability to articulate and convey concepts and ideas to a senior audience in a clear and compelling manner
  • Must be delivery focused, with the ability to work with energy and pace, with a high level of resilience

Whatever your role, we reward ability, performance and attitude with a package that looks after all the things that are important to you. Our employees have a wide range of benefits including a generous pension scheme, life assurance, 27 days' holiday, private medical insurance, performance related bonuses, a variety of share schemes, discounts at both a huge range of high street stores and our own great products. Your hard work will be rewarded when you join us.
