We are recruiting for a Head of Operational Resilience who will be responsible for designing, developing and embedding an Operational Resilience function within LGRR (Legal & General Retail Retirement). 

Working closely with a broad range of stakeholders, to board level, you'll ensure that the business can continue to operate effectively throughout any incident and meets relevant maturity targets.

This role can be based in Hove or London. 

  • Responsible for developing and embedding the Operational Resilience Framework across the LGRR (Legal & General Retail Retirement) division including upgrading and maintaining existing capabilities for areas such as business continuity, incident response, technology resilience and oversight of third-party service provider resilience. 
  • Ensure senior management including NEDs are fully aware of their roles and responsibilities regarding operational resilience and are provided with the relevant guidance, data and management information to help facilitate decision making. Ensure operational resilience is completely embedded top down.
  • Ensure Important Business Services (IBS) delivered within the division are identified, mapped, assessed for resilience identifying gaps and defining remediation measures to improve resilience. Define tolerance statements for each IBS, stress test ability to remain within those tolerances identifying any necessary improvements required.
  • Establish highly effective and collaborative relationships with business partners and Group when designing, embedding and leading the function. Ensure not only divisional business requirements are met but our approach is aligned to Group and the various regulators.
  • Maintain a deep understanding of the emerging business strategy and model to ensure processes and policies remain current and relevant and continue to align to group policies.
  • Work with the business SME to ensure all divisional external suppliers and vendors are effectively and robustly managed in order to guarantee the support of the division’s business activities.
  • Ensure the appropriate: committees are in place to govern the function; the relevant training programmes and exercises are planned to ensure awareness and the relevant MI exists to demonstrate effective management.
  • You'll have practical experience of working in the governance structures expected in a financial services business including the management and delivery of governance items, including high-quality reports and proposal documents.
  • Experience in the development, deployment and management of business-critical processes.
  • You'll have strong organisational skills and attention to detail, with a demonstrated ability to work independently, lead multiple projects, ruthlessly prioritise, and manage a high-volume of tasks, deadlines, requirements, and decisions.
  • Strong knowledge of enterprise risk and control frameworks and resilience risks relating to business operations, technology
  • Knowledge across the following resilience disciplines: Business continuity, Incident and Crisis management, Disaster Recovery, Technology Resilience and supplier/vendor management
  • Deep and sound knowledge of the financial regulatory environment
