As the successful ServiceNow Engineer, you will be joining a very successful and large organisation who are investing in their technologies and re-shaping the way they work. The ServiceNow Engineer works across predominantly ITSM (focusing on CMDB and discovery), ITOM and creating integrations between systems with some additional work with SAM, IRM and ITBM on occasion. Focusing on understanding and delivering against requirements provided by other Developers, System Administrators and Product Owners they will be responsible for coding solutions within the tool.

1.

Creates high quality solutions, challenging unnecessary customisation and focusing on an approach that delivers flexibility to support changing business needs without the need to redevelop ServiceNow each time.

2.

Technical responsibility for expanding discovery solutions and working to improve the quality of the CMDB as it supports all other processes within the tool.

3.

Seeking out activities to automate, reducing the repetitive work carried out by the team and other associates to reduce costs and improve service quality.

4.

Focus on creating Automated Test Framework tests for all deliverables, working with the process owners to minimise the need for manual testing and increase the volume of testing that can be carried out across all processes.

5.

Follows and contributes to coding standards, ensuring that all work delivered is supportable by other team members who weren’t initially involved in the solution to prevent single points of failure and improve role flexibility in the team.

6.

Frequent work expanding the Event Management capabilities of the team, working to integrate new data sources and to enable enrichment on those events and alerts for IT Ops to reduce downtime and improve focus on proactive Problem management.

7.

Ensures that Treating Customers Fairly is embedded within the processes and actions of the team.
