Have you led the Learning & Development function for a start-up or growing business and are comfortable working in a dynamic environment? 

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Learning & Improvement Lead within our Affordable Housing business. You'll be responsible for creating and owning the learning environment that is offered to employees and teams as well as creating insightful and imaginative ways in which the performance and improvement of individuals, teams and the business as a whole is tracked and understood.

 

  • Work across the business to assess organisational aid individual capability and the required technical and soft-skill requirements.
  • Build a framework of learning that will help the business to grow consistency of approach across teams and high levels of technical understanding and performance.
  • Support and coach the managers to improve their skills in helping to lead learning activities provided to colleagues to allow them to learn and grow.
  • Operate at all levels to identify where either individual or group capability is being underutilised. Assist the business to make best use of those capabilities and help our people realise greater success from the skills they already possess.
  • Act as the lead person in the business for the design, coordination and improvement of the learning modules that the business rolls-out to relevant employees, alongside the programmes of activities involved in the onboarding of our people.
  • Lead the business in the development of the stories, tales and artefacts that form an important part of the businesses culture and are synonymous with the way people are treated around here and the value that is placed on their contributions.
  • Identify and implement training plans for identified areas to improve the quality, expertise, effectiveness and efficiency of all the employees within the business.
  • Develop and maintain excellent working relationships with L&G’s Human Resources team. Ensure that activities align with the L&G brand and that tactics and operational delivery compliment one another and do not overlap.
  • You'll be a great communicator who sees the power in the impact of what they do for others and have a self-driven, entrepreneurial spirit that embraces change and opportunity
  • Experience in the creation of new businesses and the challenges and opportunities for business design - We are looking for experience of working in a start up environment and creating, rather than transforming a business
  • Considerable success in helping businesses to help their people to get the very best from themselves
  • Experience of working in an environment where the growth of people in the business is substantial and success in helping build, sustain and knit people and culture.
  • Experience in working along large supply chains to influence supplier practices effectively to deliver successful outcomes.
