We are currently hiring a Reconciliations Manager to join our busy team. You will take responsibility for and apply Finance Operations subject matter expertise, technical knowledge and analytical skills, to both the delivery of daily client money obligations and the delivery of system and process transformations. You will also undertake methodical investigation, analysis, review and documentation of Finance operating models, systems and processes and  work with stakeholders to create viable specifications and acceptance criteria  for business changes impacting processes/models and customer/financial records - ensuring compliance with CASS and FCA regulations, LGIM PI and Retail standards and L&G policies and procedures. 

  • Applying specialist knowledge to the delivery and design of client money calculations, reconciliations and associated functions, and provide support and advice to colleagues and management in these key areas of work during business as usual and business transformation.
  • Providing specialist knowledge to key aspects of projects impacting operational and client money processes and the financial record -  understanding the finer detail of a project and process - working as part of the Finance Operations transformation function to ensure the design and implementation of new models and processes is robust, relevant and effective.
  • Overseeing the review and authorisation of client money calculations, reconciliations and cash transfers, maintaining detailed knowledge of the underlying processes. 
  • Preparaing and reviewing reporting/MI materials required for internal and external regulatory reporting, audit and compliance.
  • Understanding the FCA and CASS rules governing client money segregation, records and reconciliations, maintaining in depth knowledge to ensure compliance during BAU and the build and design of new processes and models, while maintaining the continuity and integrity of the control framework.
  • Building and maintaining excellent working relationships and communications with other parts of the business to ensure delivery of effective processes, procedures and project deliverables. 
  • Ensuring that the appropriate MI, process and systems are in place to provide support to other business areas so that customers are treated fairly, in line with Legal & General’s Customer Experience and Treating Customers Fairly policy (TCF).
  • Proven experience in a Finance environment.
  • Knowledge of the end to end operational processes and the impacts on the general ledger and client money operation/reconciliation.
  • Knowledge of operational and banking systems, functions and processes and their impacts on client accounts.
  • An in depth understanding of methods of reconciliation and data analysis
  • Knowledge of of client money models.
  • The ability to undertake technical review of information or the preparation of reports/MI and sign-off calculations, reconciliations and testing.
  • Previous experience in a technical accounting/finance role and excellent numeracy, investigation and financial problem solving skills.
  • Qualified or Part Qualified Accountant desirable, but not essential
