As the Employee Communications and Engagement Manager for our Insurance division, your role will shape, define and execute a creative internal communications and engagement strategy that supports the delivery of our business and people ambitions.

Working with multiple stakeholders including our executive team, this role involves using digital and face-to-face channels to capture, create and deliver great content; bringing to life the difference we make to customers, communities and colleagues alike.

  • Developing and managing the implementation of the LGI internal communications and engagement strategy and plan including full channel management, content, metrics and insight with the aim of developing our peoples’ understanding and awareness of our business ambitions, how we are going to get there and create excitement of the part that all colleagues play
  • Planning, co-ordinating and supporting the engagement initiatives across the LGI business division – utilising feedback from our regular Pulse engagement surveys, identify areas of focus and help drive improvements within our employee engagement plans
  • Proactively building excellent stakeholder relations and an effective internal network to seek out LGI news, business updates and success stories to deliver communications activities across the division in a clear, timely and efficient manner
  • Developing, implementing and oversee communications for key projects to provide advice and a clear comms plan to support successful delivery that aligns to our cultural vision
  • Managing the LGI intranet site (our Hub), events and communications (including our face-to-face channels such as Leadership briefings), to inspire and engage our colleagues about our business vision and strategy. Ensure all content is relevant and timely
  • Effectively influencing and implementing initiatives that maximise LGI’s exposure in internal communications of the wider organisation, collaborating and coordinating with other communications colleagues to do this; and work proactively to co-ordinate wider organisation communications and initiatives with our own LGI communications programme
  • Developing and delivering creative comms plans that maximise CEO, senior managers and key business managers’ profiles, and key messages within LGI
  • Developing all communications in line with best business practice, Legal & General’s tone of voice and brand guidelines and ensure they have followed the correct approvals process prior to release
  • Experience of delivering multi-channel communications within a multi-site environment, to inform, engage and inspire
  • Experience of developing and delivering engagement strategies which link into the divisional strategic objectives
  • Experience in managing complex communications programmes including largescale events, and internal communications/campaign
  • Excellent project management skills, with an ability to set and meet strict deadlines and mobilise a wider team, including senior stakeholders, to achieve key agreed milestones and objectives
  • Responsiveness, accuracy and an eye for detail
  • Strong writing skills and the ability to tailor pieces (depending on the audience, situation and spokesperson), create engaging content and express dry or complex subject matters succinctly and clearly, removing all jargon
  • Enthusiastic individual, with an ability to work alone as well as collaboratively, across all levels of the business. Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills
  • Demonstrable experience of initiating and running successful and innovative communications and engagement campaigns
  • Experience of working across a broad range of subject matters with a flexible attitude
  • Strong experience of maintaining and designing intranet/webpages, creating and editing lively, dynamic content and applying creative digital tools or concepts
  • Strong technical capabilities including virtual event and video editing software
