Legal & General Capital is currently looking for an Internal Communications Manager to design, develop and implement a creative internal communications plan to meet Legal & General Capital (LGC)'s people strategy and business strategy. You will be responsible for driving and delivering strategic and business critical communications initiatives and work proactively with senior business leaders and stakeholders and as part of the wider communications team.

Key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Understanding LGC’s business strategy, people strategy and overarching communications strategy, and in turn creating and delivering an outcome focused internal communications strategy and being an advocate of the Group Internal Communications strategy, and ensuring that this is leveraged by and dovetails neatly with LGC’s communications strategy
  • Articulating key narratives and defining strategic messaging for the business. Writing key communications – setting the tone of voice and editing/polishing others’ messages
  • Supporting HR with people communications – including performance, pay, engagement, reward, benefits, leadership announcements, cultural themes, line manager communications, wellbeing, and D&I strategy and engagement
  • Form a key collaborative element of LGC’s communications team, taking a holistic approach in order to maximise both the internal and external engagement, ensuring that all channels are leveraged and that messaging is fully aligned
  • Providing event management support and creating opportunities for two way leadership engagement and culture building initiatives, including town halls, Ask Us Anything sessions, inductions and welcome events
  • Leading the communications workstream of large-scale organisational design changes in the business, advising and working with the business to agree the detailed communications plan
  • Driving greater cross business engagement and collaboration to open up synergies, alignment and commercial opportunities
  • Agree key deliverables & goals for internal communications within the business – facilitate delivery of meaningful metrics to guide future strategy and track communications effectiveness, including using AI and other tools
  • Degree or other relevant professional qualification
  • Excellent project management skills, with an ability to set and meet strict deadlines and mobilise a wider team, including senior stakeholders, to achieve key agreed milestones and objectives
  • Enthusiastic individual, with a collegiate approach; able to work across all levels of the business and as part of a larger communications team
  • Strong writing skills and the ability to tailor pieces (depending on the audience, situation and spokesperson), create engaging content and express dry or complex subject matters succinctly and clearly, removing all jargon
  • Demonstrable experience of initiating and running successful and innovative communications campaigns
  • Strong experience of maintaining and designing intranet/webpages and creating digital led communications, as well as of using tools to track, monitor and analyse usage so as to inform campaigns
  • Evidence of experience in creating and editing lively, dynamic content and applying creative digital tools or concepts
  • Understanding of wider (external) communications considerations
  • Responsiveness, accuracy and an eye for detail.
