We're looking for a Payroll Services Consultant to join our Pension Risk Transfer Team in Hove.

You'll be responsible for completing the smooth transition of pensioner payroll to Legal & General from the previous payers, payroll alterations and Buy-In payment reconciliations ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

  • Loading individual pensioners and schemes on to the pensioner payroll system via the mainframe or administration system as appropriate
  • Making alterations to existing records on the payroll system;
  • You’ll provide ongoing support to brokers, scheme Trustees and individual members for large or complex schemes until the scheme benefits are finalised;
  • You will be checking the original quote data against the payroll data and resolve any issues
  • You’ll calculate and make payments to trustees for specific buy-in schemes and reconcile payments against member movements on a monthly basis
  • Set up and maintain scheme records, and to personally deal with the investigation of anomalies and to take whatever action is appropriate
  • Recording and resolving internal and external customer enquiries at all levels both quickly and accurately by reference to scheme data systems information and knowledge of current legislation and practices
  • You’ll ensure all internal customers and any relevant 3rd parties are kept updated in a timely fashion on any key information to enable them to treat their customers fairly
  • You'll have proven experience within a payroll position and have extensive knowledge in this area and ideally, knowledge of Defined Benefits, in particular Reinsurance practise and processes
  • You'll need to be extremely confident working with large volumes of data (in Excel) and this should be clearly demonstrated in your application
  • Experience in financial services is required
