As a subject matter expert this key role will determine, set up and establish the quality assurance processes and controls to assure the IT projects and their deliverables across the Group Finance IT project portfolio.  A core activity will be establishing and building relationships across the change and IT teams to ensure that change and IT control and quality assurance processes are optimised, integrated, understood and followed through collaboration, education and effective communication.

As a subject matter expert this key role will determine, set up and establish the quality assurance processes and controls to assure the IT projects and their deliverables across the Group Finance IT project portfolio.  A core activity will be establishing and building relationships across the change and IT teams to ensure that change and IT control and quality assurance processes are optimised, integrated, understood and followed through collaboration, education and effective communication.

  • Determine, create, establish and implement quality assurance standards across the group IT change function including the rollout and maintenance of the IT governance template documents to support and underpin the group finance IT SDLC process.  This will also involve undertaking regular reviews of QA/controls processes and standards to ensure continuous improvement and that they are fit for purpose
  • Review and assess in-flight projects to identify/agree risks and issues and the corrective actions required to resolve these in collaboration with project sponsors, project managers and operational leads
  • Conduct deep dive reviews of projects identified as underperforming and work with key stakeholders to determine corrective actions required to bring back on track
  • MI reporting to include project status and agreed actions required to return projects back on target for any projects deviating from agreed time, cost and quality deliverables
  • As a subject matter expert to educate, inform, raise awareness and train others to ensure our governance and quality control processes are understood and are being followed correctly
  • Identify and agree with the project sponsor and project manager the key artefacts to be delivered for each SDLC phase
  • Review projects across the IT portfolio  to identify dependencies between projects to ensure these have been acknowledged and understood across the portfolio, and to determine if the correct types and number of IT resources have been engaged and allocated to the projects within our portfolio
  • Ensure that IT project and deliverables adhere to quality assurance and controls requirements to contribute to best customer service to meet our commitment to Treating Customers Fairly

 

  • Prince 2 or equivalent, Agile practitioner or equivalent, P30 foundation is highly desirable
  • O365 Tools and Techniques, Power BI, Power Automate is highly desirable
  • An experienced and proficient user of MS Project planning tool
  • Experienced in project, programme and portfolio management of IT project change and delivery
  • Proficient and knowledgeable in IT governance best practices, processes and techniques
  • Knowledgeable and experienced in resource planning for IT change projects
  • Able to coach and lead others in best practice for IT delivery and Governance

Our view is that this role is suitable for agile working. This means we would consider a more flexible working arrangement, where your hours and work location are managed according to business, customer and personal needs’ For this role, you would be based in Hove, but you could work in other Legal and General offices or at home, as necessary, provided this meets business needs.
