Working across Future Cities (Urban Regeneration, Clean Energy, Digital Infrastructure) in the Direct Investment (DI) Portfolio, the Research Analyst will provide support for:

  • Central / internal functions (50%, particularly Finance, Risk and Audit)
  • DI investment functions (50%, particularly Urban Regeneration)

Working across Future Cities (Urban Regeneration, Clean Energy, Digital Infrastructure) in the Direct Investment (DI) Portfolio, the Research Analyst will provide support for:

  • Central / internal functions (50%, particularly Finance, Risk and Audit)
  • DI investment functions (50%, particularly Urban Regeneration)

Job Duties:

  • Investment Assist the Future Cities team with the investment process by co-ordinating information, producing pitch books, scoping documents and other presentation materials, regular reporting requirement. This to ensure that the team can deliver the best possible outcomes in pitches and everyday business, with information clearly presented.  
  • Investment: The role holder will be expected to compile and deliver weekly pipeline tracker documents for the Future Cities business lines, including market information and deal updates. This is discussed by Directors to make investment decisions and must be of high quality and delivered on time.
  • Investment Collate information regarding relationships with LGC’s external stakeholders, conduct sector research into competitor / potential partners and attend relevant presentations, feeding back key findings to the wider team. This is to ensure that the team keeps abreast of market trends in order to optimise the business plan and future strategy.
  • Investment: Contribute towards the creation and maintenance of cashflow and valuation models that underpin investment decision making, including transactions and on-going asset management. The role holder will receive support from the team of experienced investment analysts. This is to help the Deal Team with their investment decisions and business plans.
  • Central / internal: Assist the Finance team with the tracking of central costs across the Future Cities business lines and contribute towards the annual budget process. These vital functions ensure the business continues to run efficiently and successfully.
  • Central / internal: Coordinate Future Cities-wide projects and workstreams, such as those tracking risk processes, Know Your Customer and contribute towards external / internal audits. These functions to important for the efficient and professional running of the Future Cities business.
  • Central / internal: Ensure professional conduct at all times, ensure that learnings on regulatory / compliance matters are up to date and that principles of Treating Customers Fairly (TCF) applied at all times.
  • The role holder will be supported through the CFA certificate (or equivalent), should they wish to undertake further study.

Qualifications:

  • Numerical/Quantitative Degree or equivalent level of qualification 

Knowledge:

  • An interest in the build environment, sustainability and clean energy
  • Strong analytical and written skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Familiarity with Word, Excel and Power point
  • Confident communicator (both written and oral)
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrates an interest to learn and progress

Experience:

  • Relevent commercial experience 
  • Working / academic knowledge of research methodologies
  • Experience of financial / cashflow models would be desirable, but not essential
