The Partner and Supplier Manager is responsible for the management of the commercial and contractual relationships with allocated key suppliers, throughout the lifecycle of the agreement. The aim is to ensure delivery of the desired outcomes within the risk appetite and identify and deliver additional value into the Legal and General supply chain through interaction within LGRI BT&T and Business Stakeholders. 

The Partner and Supplier Manager is responsible for the management of the commercial and contractual relationships with allocated key suppliers, throughout the lifecycle of the agreement. The aim is to ensure delivery of the desired outcomes within the risk appetite and identify and deliver additional value into the Legal and General supply chain through interaction with Business Stakeholders. 

 

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Manage supplier relationships ensuring the required governance activities and commercial obligations are met and monitored within the context of the relevant policies, risk and regulatory frameworks. Ensuring adherence to best practice and guidance provided by Group.
  • Manage relationships to ensure contract compliance including performance against agreed Metrics including SLAs and KPIs. 
  • Support Supplier Management strategy and objectives across business units in order to meet the business objectives within the most appropriate time, quality and cost parameters. 
  • Identify opportunities to drive value and improve the performance of the existing and potential supply base, seeking ways to drive 
  • innovation in processes, reduce costs, reduce risks, improve performance and stimulate competition between qualified suppliers. 
  • Ensure that supplier frameworks, contracts and services are in line with Business needs and that business requirements are suitably supported through proactive account development and management to drive service improvement and or reduce cost.
  • Maintain and build business relationships with suppliers in order to ensure that delivery schedules are achieved, and that favourable terms can be agreed with the supplier to suit business needs.

Qualifications:

  • CIPS/IACCM accreditation/qualifications desirable.

Knowledge & Experience

  • Understanding contract and commercial law sufficiently to be able to identify risks, gaps and opportunities.
  • A demonstrable knowledge of techniques to deliver improvement, cost savings and value within the context of supplier relationships.
  • Understanding of IT contracts and frameworks including hosting, software and services in the context of Financial Services
  • Understanding of contract negotiation and contract/supplier management best practise 
  • Understanding of supplier governance and its implementation for different agreements/services

Skills:

  • Negotiation with track record of delivering value at pace
  • Communication, verbal and written, including production of reporting, Supplier Improvement and Account plans. Proven ability to communicate with  stakeholders at all levels within an organisation.
  • Financial, high level of numeracy.
