This is a unique opportunity to play a key role at a very interesting time for our business. The successful candidate will assess new Venture Capital fund investments, manage end-to-end deal processes, perform analyses on the existing portfolio and contribute to key Group-wide strategic initiatives related to venture capital.

This is a unique opportunity to play a key role at a very interesting time for our business. The successful candidate will assess new Venture Capital fund investments, manage end-to-end deal processes, perform analyses on the existing portfolio and contribute to key Group-wide strategic initiatives related to venture capital. Sepcific responsibilities will include:

1. Support origination and execution of investments into new VC funds:

  • Peer group, market and economic analysis;
  • Cash flow and valuation modelling;
  • Supporting investment paper preparation;
  • Coordination of due diligence, including management of advisors
  • Engagement with internal teams including Legal, Tax, Finance and Risk
  • Relationship building within broader Venture Capital ecosystem

2. Support with the management of existing portfolio funds:

  • Attending meeting
  • Assisting with investment reporting
  • Analysis of investment performance

3. Support with key strategic projects and initiatives:

  • Assist with strategy to enable DC pension funds to access Venture Capital
  • Conduct sector research and attend industry events
  • Undertake research into competitors and potential partners
  • Production and presentation of research findings

4. Lead improvement in portfolio data analysis capabilities

  • Implement new technologies to enable team to derive better insights from Venture Capital data
  • Support process improvement across the Venture Capital business

Qualifications

  • Honours Degree – 2:1  or qualified by experience
  • Support for further qualifications and training will be offered

Knowledge and Skills

  • You will have a keen interest in Venture Capital – you will be expected to immerse yourself in the European VC ecosystem from day one
  • You will be intellectually curious, capable of thinking critically and developing conclusions from independent research
  • You will be a confident communicator (both written and oral) with strong interpersonal skills and a can-do attitude
  • You will be highly analytical and comfortable with investment concepts. Whilst a passion for data analytics is not essential, it would be beneficial for the role
  • You will be well-organised and able to prioritise effectively
  • Proficiency with Word, Excel and Power point is essential. Experience with additional data tools would be a plus

Experience

  • Experience at an investment bank, management consultancy, tech start-up, VC fund or investment manager (desirable)
