We're hiring a Senior Conduct Risk Manager to manage the provision of independent conduct risk advice and guidance to LGR and deliver effective 2nd line challenge to their approach to managing their risks. 

As the Senior Conduct Risk Manager within LGR you will be managing the provision of independent conduct risk advice and guidance to LGR and deliver effective 2nd line challenge to their approach to managing their risks, to ensure that the conduct risk framework, policies and processes are embedded.You will be the nominated deputy for Head of Conduct and Lead on larger projects.

What you’ll be doing

  • You’ll be providing conduct risk advice and guidance on new projects, products, propositions, services and other initiatives to ensure the delivery of fair customer outcomes, and appropriate risk mitigation in line with LGR conduct risk appetite.
  • You will set and manage the framework for providing 2nd line oversight of conduct risk matters within the LGR business unit to ensure appropriate information is gathered and collated on an ongoing basis to enable a robust assessment of the effectiveness of conduct risk management practices.
  • You’ll provide advice and guidance to the business on regulatory change, including preparing responses and inputting to lobbying proposals. Ensure regulatory initiatives and effective identification and management of new and changing conduct risks are understood and communicated in a timely manner.
  • Developing and maintaining effective and close working relationships with the relevant business areas, LGR Risk team and Group Conduct Risk team to ensure effective co-ordination of resources and responsibilities so that all material conduct risks are identified and managed within agreed risk appetite.
  • You’ll be providing feedback on the effectiveness of the conduct risk management framework and input to the conduct risk monitoring universe to ensure a consistent approach to the setting, managing and assessment of conduct risk across the Group.
  • You will maintain up-to-date knowledge of conduct risk requirements, industry best practice and developments, sharing knowledge with the wider Legal & General Group as appropriate.
  • You’ll deputise for the LGR Head of Conduct Risk and LGR Chief Risk Officer as required, and escalate issues as appropriate.

What we are looking for

  • Strong regulatory knowledge and experience of the FCA rules and practical application.
  • Awareness of L&G’s industry position and financial services products in the retirement market place.
  • Knowledge of the principles of operational risk management, especially in relation to regulatory and customer focused risks.
  • Extensive experience in financial services, preferably retirement sector
  • Experience of wholesale investment and retail mortgage products would be an advantage
  • Experience interpreting and applying regulatory rules to practical scenarios and helping to devise compliant, commercially acceptable solutions.
  • Providing technical compliance and risk advice and guidance
  • Influencing at all levels and effective management of issues
