An exciting opportunity has arisen for an individual to join our Rehabilitation Team dealing with Income Protection Policies.

 

 

The role will primarily focus on supporting individuals claiming and receiving Income Protection benefit by advising and overseeing the delivery of early interventions, rehabilitation, return to work support and planning.

The jobholder will be an experienced Registered General Nurse or Occupational Therapist who has experience working in occupational health case management or vocational rehabilitation.

  • Provide comprehensive clinical specialist advice and support to the benefits management team to assist in the assessment and management of Income Protection, Critical Illness and Ill health liability Insurance claims.
  • Develop and build effective relationships with claimants by holding discussions and conducting assessments through telephone or face to face contact, establishing their clinical capability, developing and monitoring rehabilitation plans.
  • Develop and continually review procedures to ensure market leading delivery of rehabilitation programmes to proactively manage Income Protection claims, assisting with return to work plans and providing guidance on reasonable adjustments as stated under the Equality Act.
  • Develop and build effective relationships with IFA’s and Policyholders (employers), both pre- and post-sale, in order to promote the understanding of our benefit management philosophy and operating procedures. 
  • Develop, build and maintain effective relationships with our external suppliers to ensure that we receive cost effective services.
  • Train, mentor and develop other members of the benefits and rehabilitation team to improve their skill level.
  • Define, develop and deliver processes and systems to ensure a consistent and good level of service that means customer’s expectations are met, is consistent with what we have communicated and is aligned to L&G’s Customer Experience and Treating Customers Fairly policy.
  • Define, develop, deliver processes and systems to ensure that all customer data is dealt with appropriately in accordance with legislation, in particular the Data Protection Act (1995), the Access to Medical Reports Act (1988) and Legal & General’s Confidentiality Policy.
  • Experience of conducting tele interviews and face to face assessments.
  • Requires extensive Health & Safety legislative and regulatory knowledge.
  • Good organisational skills and ability to manage your own case load.
  • Experience of the development and implementation of return to work strategies, vocational rehabilitation and support mechanisms.
  • Have clinical skills/qualifications or experience of understanding and providing support to people with a wide range of disabilities.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, specifically around listening, questioning, building relationships, motivation and demonstrating initiative.
  • Strong written communication skills with the ability to produce clear and accurate reports.
  • Strong  IT literacy.
