We're looking for a Senior Finance Analyst with strong MI (Management Information) and data analysis experience to join our Finance team in Cardiff.

You'll be assisting with the review and revision of the current Group IT cost allocation model to provide greater transparency of underlying costs, provide more insightful MI to help drive a better understanding of costs charged to divisions, helping to move towards a more consumption based model.

Management Information

Produce analysis/trend reports and appropriate MI to assist with the review of cross divisional charges of Group IT costs to aid the divisions understanding of underlying charges and provide greater transparency of costs

Allocated Expense Review

Review the current allocation recharging model and help shape new cost allocation principles and basis for the Group IT cost base, developing a good understanding of the tool provided by Group including CMdb and ServiceNow

Financial Control

Ensure adequate controls are in place around any modelling used in the allocation process and sufficient processes are documented to ensure risk of un-supported models is mitigated.  The documentation should include appropriate process flows

Ensure allocations basis used to allocate Group IT costs are fully understood, documented and are agreed as an appropriate driver of cross divisional allocations of Group IT costs

Planning and Forecasting

Develop a model or framework that can be used in the planning and forecast process to apportion Group IT costs to divisions in line with how these services are provided by Group IT and consumed by the business

Projects

Support the management team by undertaking ad-hoc analysis and projects, as required, to further develop the success of the division’s and own personal profile within the division

Treating Customers Fairly

Ensure that the appropriate Finance MI, process and systems are in place to provide support to the Group Functions so that customers are treated fairly in line with Legal & General’s Customer Experience and TCF(Treating Customers Fairly) policy.

 

Qualifications:

  • Degree level and/or finance/accounting qualification is preferred, but not essential

Knowledge:

  • An understanding of L&G’s approach to cost allocation and profit measurement would be advantageous but more broadly, an understanding of or previous experience of working in an IT finance related environment.

Skills:

  • Ability to demonstrate strong inter personal skills to interact with all levels of business and to develop and maintain strong relationships with finance and non finance individuals.
  • Advanced knowledge in the use of spreadsheets, databases and analysis tools.
  • Ability to design, develop and maintain financial models.
  • MI and data analysis experience is essential
  • Strong Excel analytical skills
