We're looking for a Enhanced Annuity Underwriter to join our Cardiff office.

You will work in a multi-channel environment across LGRRI Customer Services, with the responsibility to provide an excellent Underwriting service that is trusted, valued and provides fair treatment and outcomes for our customers.

On a daily basis you will 

  • Think in terms of the customer at all times, identifying opportunities to improve processes & best practice to deliver optimal customer solutions
  • balance the customer wants and needs for retirement income against the risk of financial loss associated with excessive annuity payments
  • use your analytical expertise to understand often complex or conflicting information
  • identify and gather all information required in order to assess applications for a range of enhanced annuity products
  • Develop your own skills so that your ability to make risk-based decisions based on medical information is continually improving    
  • Provide support to the Head of Underwriting Operations and other senior stakeholders in the regular circulation of business critical data along with supporting commentary and recommendations

You will be a highly motivated self-starter, used to working in a fast-paced environment, with the ability to plan your time and workload effectively to meet fluid customer demands.

  • The ability to work and communicate collaboratively in a busy team environment
  • Effective planning and organisation skills that enables work to be delivered consistently on time
  • Analysis and judgement that enables you to apply your knowledge in order to make underwriting decisions of a consistently high standard         
  • Effective stakeholder and relationship management skills 
  • The ability to work in a flexible manner in response to a varied workload, maintaining focus and productivity during busy periods
