Legal and General are currently going through some exciting group wide growth and to support this the central Group Procurement function (GPSM) are deploying their new five year Vision and Strategy.  To underpin this innovative and progressive strategy, the latest Procurement & SRM tools have been sourced and are being deployed to drive digital procurement and the central team is being enhanced to bring the vision and strategy to life and build a stronger team to provide greater Procurement & SRM leadership to the business.

The role owns and drives digital adoption and strategic change in relation to group wide Procurement and supplier management (GPSM) activities ensuring alignment with the GPSM Vision and Strategy, operating as a change agent and thought leader to identify continuous opportunity to develop and improve GPSM digital tools and adoption. 

The role is also responsible for maintaining and maximising ROI on existing GPSM sourcing, procurement and Supplier management tools, and will maintain and develop GPSM digital operations and performance as well as providing and supporting reporting and MI requirements.

Principal accountabilities:

Create a clear and innovative digital pathway / strategy and work with the Procurement and SRM leads to drive positive digital change and grow adoption of tools.

Ensure current tools remain operational and fit for purpose to ensure GPSM and the Procurement Centres can continue to operate and remain fully functional.

Provide Reporting and MI functionality, material and regular reporting (Spend, Monthly reports, Board reports) to the GPSM team as required to support monthly reporting as well as wider Resources Board reports and add hoc strategic project reporting.

Own the SRM and Partner engagement activities with GEP Smart to ensure on-going operational stability and to ensure L&G maximises the benefits from the tools and is engaged at a strategic level with GEP regarding innovation and piloting new technologies and modules.

Maintain market knowledge and awareness and network with wider industry thought leaders, supplier and stakeholders and bring this Digital value back into the L&G digital procurement pathway, vision and strategy, in turn working with the CPO and the wider GPSM team to enhance existing and develop new proactive activities, policies and handbooks to materially drive forward benefit to the way we digitally manage and engage with suppliers as well as drive internal and external compliance.

Own the GPSM elements of Oracle I procurement – Liaising with internal technical teams, driving improvements to the system as well as progressing adoption, enhancements and maintaining a training program and helpdesk. Driving forward automation of P2P processes, enhancing reporting and looking for synergy with Smart and other tools.

In all situations where suppliers provide goods and services directly to our external customers, ensure that procurement activity and supplier relationships managed by GPSM are managed in line with Legal & General’s Customer Experience and Treating Customers Fairly Policy. 

To take the lead in all matters with regard to the management of employees, ensuring that management discretion is used in a consistent manner and that the area follows the Group’s policies and procedures including the Partnership Agreement to maximise business performance.

Degree / MCIPs / IACCM ideal but not essential or ability to demonstrate equivalent experience and deliverables working at this level / scope.

Awareness of Procurement / SRM process ideal but not essential

Knowledge of  Procurement Tools such as GEP Smart and Oracle or similar ideal but not essential

Experience of project management / change methodology

Digital experience

IT literate

Strong digital skills and awareness of Procurement / SRM or similar business type processes

Change management experience and skills

Strong stakeholder management and engagement skills

Attention to detail but also sees the bigger picture
