Legal and General are currently going through some exciting group wide growth and to support this the central Group Procurement function (GPSM) are deploying their new five year Vision and Strategy.  To underpin this innovative and progressive strategy, the latest Procurement & SRM tools have been sourced and are being deployed to drive digital procurement and the central team is being enhanced to bring the vision and strategy to life and build a stronger team to provide greater Procurement & SRM leadership to the business.

  • Working with the GPSM Category Managers, the role provides specific competitive sourcing and buying capability as required across the GPSM category scope.  The role will play a key role in helping to build out proactive sourcing plans and engaging on adhoc sourcing / procurement requirements that fall out of the direct category manager’s scope.

    Also responsible for procurement engagement on specific elements of the procurement cycle applicable to sourcing such as tenders, RFI`s and Statements of Work / contract and commercial negotiations as required. There will be responsibility for identifying and acting upon sourcing opportunities that come via the Digital Tools workflow and also responsibility for progressing various PO`s / New supplier set up`s in relation to a specific owned sourcing activity.
  • Responsible for Sourcing activity across the GPSM categories
  • Working with the category managers and leadership team on sourcing projects, E Auctions, E-RFP`s and Market Reserach / Catagoey Intelligence as required.
  • Leveraging Digital tools in the sourcing process
  • Identifying opportunities from Category plans, one off activities, Purchase Orders etc and driving appropriate competition and commercial / contractual work
  • Negotiating SOW`s / Contracts and commercials as required

MCIPs or studying towards desirable

Good Procurement / Sourcing experience required as well as ability to draft and negotiate applicable contracts to the required level.

Experience of Sourcing / Procurement processes and supporting tools

Experience of contract negotiation & drafting

Ability to independently draft / review contracts / SoW`s

Cross category knowledge

Negotiation experience

Commercial negotiation experience and awareness
