The role will support the Group Internal Communications team to develop and deliver L&G’s internal communications strategy in order to maintain and enhance employee engagement.

The role will support the Group Internal Communications team to develop and deliver L&G’s internal communications strategy in order to maintain and enhance employee engagement.

The role will report into the Head of Internal Communications & Change, however, the role-holder will support across the team, including the Director of Internal Communications, so there will be an opportunity to learn and work with a variety of people across the team.  From finding and developing news stories, to helping shape our new employer brand, the role will be integral to supporting a function with ambitious plans for the future.  

Working collaboratively with the Group Internal Communications team to provide support across a range of Group internal comms activity.

This will include opportunities to:

- research and write internal news stories including stories about our amazing people

- develop visual, video and audio content for use on our digital channels

- upload and refresh content across our digital channels

- support on internal event management

Responsible for ensuring the smooth running of team administrative processes including managing distribution lists, activity calendars, internal reporting, and tracking measurement. Provide ideas for the improvement of systems and processes to support the team.

Developing a network of contacts across business divisions and locations to facilitate the effective co-ordination of internal communications activity. You will partner with different teams to define communications that engage our people, help them to understand what’s changing, and help inspire them.

Over time, use your expertise to make recommendations on what methods, channels and timelines we should be working to for different communications so they achieve the desired outcome - whether that’s helping to ensure people know how to use a new IT system, or sharing news that might affect where they work.

Ensure communications sufficiently emphasise that the fair treatment of customers and employees is central to our corporate culture.

Qualifications, Skills, Knowledge:

  • Degree or qualification in relevant area is desirable but not essential.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Basic Photoshop skills, and keen to learn new digital skills
  • Strong organisational skills and an eye for detail
  • Confident in building relationships with key stakeholders across the business
  • Be curious to learn about internal communications and employee engagement and gain experience in a busy and ambitious team
  • Have previous experience working in an internal communications and branding team, or related field.
