The Expenses Accountant will work closely with the Business Partnering team in London to identify finance operational processes for transfer.

  • To work closely with the Business Partnering team in London to identify finance operational processes which can be transferred from London to the finance team in Cardiff. In addition to identify other opportunities to transfer processes to Cardiff.
  • To manage and review the detailed monthly accounting processes for specific areas of LGIM’s cost base ensuring that appropriate accruals and journals are booked on a timely basis for all LGIM cost centres, departments and companies. This accountability will include the division’s UK and overseas operations and payroll related activities.
  • To develop a robust process for managing the monthly accruals and to include robotics where appropriate. This will include high volume areas such as IT.
  • To provide ongoing support for the Business Partnering team, which will include the management of headcount, cost centres, budget movements and GFAS hierarchy and changes.
  • To provide detailed expense analysis for the Business Partnering team which will include insight into monthly variances.
  • To prepare ad hoc analysis to support the Business Partnering team in modelling business development opportunities and other initiatives.
  • To manage the provision of timely, accurate and informative management reporting to internal customers and stakeholders relating to headcount and employee costs, providing insight around emerging trends to facilitate optimal business performance.
  • To ensure that appropriate processes and systems are maintained to enable the LGIM Finance team to contribute to the division’s ongoing compliance with L&G’s TCF and customer experience policies.
  • Qualified accountant
  • Degree education desireable
  • Excellent excel skills
  • Experience of SUN accounts and Q&A (beneficial)
