Forming part of a team of seven, that includes combines marketing and PR specialisms and works collaboratively to maximise opportunities, this dynamic PR Manager role is accountable for rolling out and leading on the PR strategies for a number of specific areas, including; Future cities, Modular housing, Commercial property fund management (to include offices, retail, logistics, leisure amongst others), Research activities, Sustainability and social impact, Build to Rent and wider housing activities.

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Ensure news flow is communicated and covered in national, local, trade, wires and broadcast media, extending the companies reach
  • Primary point of contact and responsibility for a number of specific business areas
  • Lead on communications programmes and help to write individual strategies for specific business areas
  • Support and plan press contact programmes for key spokespeople in order to maintain and grow L&G’s direct relationships with key journalists and publications
  • Planning of high profile campaigns, across a mix of media and marketing channels
  • Attract high quality comment opportunities in line with the communications strategy priorities
  • Produce/place/distribute written materials in the form of press releases, articles as well as being able to prepare speeches and presentations
  • Together with the wider PR team, act as a point of contact for all press enquiries, responding quickly to requests in order to manage stories and facilitate additional comment opportunities
  • Help to support crisis communications at a national, regional and trade press level
  • Liaising closely with and helping to manage L&G’s external PR agencies, including those brought in to provide local political affairs advice to support planning gain, scheme specific PR and marketing functions
  • Advising the Group’s proactive and reactive social media channels, and working collaboratively with all Group’s wider PR, marketing, public affairs, brand and internal communications functions, as well as those within the subsidiary companies, in order to maximise opportunities and ensure consistency of communications to all target audiences
  • Helping to provide quotes and other text for external press releases, websites and marketing materials, on behalf of both LGC and LGIM Real Assets.

 

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Enthusiastic individual, with a collegiate approach; able to work across all levels of the business
  • Team player, able to demonstrate a collaborative approach to working within a larger team
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to express complex issues succinctly and clearly
  • Ability to work with a number of different senior stakeholders across the business
  • Strong writing skills and the ability to tailor pieces to the desired audience
  • Demonstrates an analytical approach and works proactively to resolve issues 
  • Able to think independently and challenge in an appropriate manner 
  • Exhibits influencing skills 
  • Experience of working on a broad range of subject matters with a flexible attitude
  • Able to operate calmly under pressure
  • Understanding of what makes a good story and strong awareness of the wider news agenda
  • Ability to forge strong media relationships
  • Strong organisational skills; ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.
  • Responsiveness and accuracy.  All media enquiries, both positive and negative, need to be dealt with quickly (within a matter of hours) and thoughtfully
