The primary responsibility of the Security Enablement Engineer is to enable and safeguard the business with Security across a number of key areas. This includes (but not limited to) data monitoring and protection (DLP and endpoint protection), information lifecycle management (information classification and handling) and Infrastructure Security. The role will involve partnering with a number of stakeholders to provide internal consultancy and thought leadership across the business and to deliver positive change to protect company, customer and partner information.

This includes (but not limited to) data monitoring and protection (DLP and endpoint protection), information lifecycle management (information classification and handling) and Infrastructure Security. The role will involve partnering with a number of stakeholders to provide internal consultancy and thought leadership across the business and to deliver positive change to protect company, customer and partner information. 

Principal accountabilities:

1.            Support the implementation and management of network security processes such as firewall infrastructure change management, web filtering, e-mail security and network access controls to help ensure Legal and General policies and standards are effectively applied.

2.            Oversee vendors responsible for configuration and management of information protection technologies including data loss prevention and endpoint protection, and ensure they meet contractually defined Service Level Agreements.

3.            Engage with business divisions to identify and manage their information protection requirements as an input into the development and management of DLP policies.

4.            Provide support to the security operations team and incident management personnel for the investigation and resolution of information protection events in order to ensure that any incidents are managed in a timely and effective manner.

5.            Identify new technologies which can help the organisation and aid in the information protection programme; and review, test and determine true value and practicality of these proposed technologies.

6.            Deliver and maintain an information classification scheme across the organisation to support the discovery, classification, archival / storage, destruction and disposal of information (both physically and electronically) in line with its business value.

7.            Support the deployment of mobile device management solutions including technologies for remote wipe and encryption of mobile devices to help ensure Legal & General mobile assets are protected.

8.            Ensure alignment to L&G’s Customer Experience and Treating Customers Fairly (TCF) policy.

Qualifications: 

Education

Bachelor’s degree (preferred but not essential) or equivalent experience in computer science, IT engineering, or related field

A MSc Information Security or equivalent would be an advantage

Certification

Information Security and/or Information Technology industry certification (CISSP, CISM, GIAC or equivalent) strongly preferred

Member of IISP or have the qualification, skills and experience to become a member

Industry certifications relating to Firewalls, Web Filtering, DLP, E-Mail and Web Security.

Knowledge:      

Curious, with the willingness to learn and keep up to date in the latest in IT Security and technology

Self-starter who can work on their own initiative with little supervision

Organised with a proven ability to prioritise workload, meet deadlines, and utilise time effectively

Strong interpersonal and communication skills; able to deal effectively with diverse skill sets and personalities, works effectively as a team player

Strong analytical skills

Automating tasks and processes

Experience:       

Prior 5+ years work experience in information security is essential

Leadership:       

Proficient in reporting and presenting to leadership and stakeholders
