The Snr Business Architect will ensure effective architecture review, standards and delivery plans are produced, tracked and managed. Participating in evolving methodologies, processes, tools and techniques to drive maximum value in the delivery of effective architecture plans for the Business Unit to drive appropriate intake and delivery pipelines in IT&T in alignment with Technology Strategy architecture plans.

The Snr Business Architect (BArch), LGRRI, provide architecture support across the Business Technology Partner Business Unit in line with the agreed integrated roadmap of Business priority and technology delivery. The BArch will ensure effective architecture review, standards and delivery plans are produced, tracked and managed. The BArch will participate in evolving methodologies, processes, tools and techniques to drive maximum value in the delivery of effective architecture plans for the Business Unit to drive appropriate intake and delivery pipelines in IT&T in alignment with Technology Strategy architecture plans.

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Develop and document the business model(s) to show the interaction of processes, systems and organisation to deliver products and services to customers and intermediaries together with the underlying business requirements
  • Understand and assess the impact of change and fully engage in the development of business and IT requirements and solutions ensuring that the integrity and effectiveness of the business model(s) are maintained
  • Communicate effectively with all interested parties so that implications of change are understood, issues identified and solutions agreed.
  • Maintain the business model in an accessible and usable format ensuring that it is regarded as the definitive source of information about the business operations and reflects change, which may result from market drivers, business and IT developments, or new legislation and regulation
  • Ensure understanding of and commitment to the business model by all relevant employees in the Annuities area by developing and delivering the appropriate training
  • To take the lead in all matters with regard to the management of employees, ensuring that management discretion is used in a consistent manner and that the area follows the Group’s policies and procedures including the Partnership Agreement to maximise business performance
  • Ensure that the principles of Conduct Risk are embedded into your day to day operations to deliver good customer outcomes at all times. Ensure that all business processes and internal controls within your role are designed and performed in a way that delivers good customer outcomes and demonstrates effective management of Conduct Risk

Qualifications:

  • Degree and/or MBA educated- desirable but not mandatory
  • Architecture, TOGAF, Analysis, Prince2, Project management and/or Agile qualifications
  • PROSCI/Adkar & change qualifications - desirable but not mandatory

 

Knowledge/Skills:

  • Regulated Industry background preference
  • Portfolio and architecture management and analysis experience with track record of effective management & reporting
  • Experience of facilitating and shaping opportunities to drive preparation of suitable business cases and Portfolio plans in line with structured business frameworks across complex geographical / functional matrix organizations
  • Proven track record of architecting business opportunities to drive portfolio plans for delivery of large, complex, change and technology initiatives with technology appreciation and awareness
  • Track record of building effective relationships to ensure approved agreed delivery plans and proven background in adapting to trends and openness to new ideas

 

Leadership:

  • Ensuring analysis to support business prioritisation and planning confidence across all levels with technical and non-technical audiences
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently focusing on priorities, and managing a high-volume of tasks, deadlines, requirements, and decisions with strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Collaborative worker who freely shares their knowledge and experience and with good influencing skills, ability to develop and mentor individuals
  • Develop, get buy-in and deliver approaches across the organisation and wider division and track record of building effective relationships
  • Effective at making good decisions and delivering great outcomes in in line with IT&T strategy
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to successfully engage and influence a broad range of individuals across various internal and external businesses and support functions
