Responsible for leading a team of Automation Analysts and Developers to deliver process automation activity across L&G Group, covering; automation opportunity identification, assessment, design, development and implementation into the production environment; leveraging applications available within the Process Transformation Hub (PTH) Technology Toolkit.

Purpose of the role

Responsible for leading a team of Automation Analysts and Developers to deliver process automation activity across L&G Group, covering; automation opportunity identification, assessment, design, development and implementation into the production environment; leveraging applications available within the Process Transformation Hub (PTH) Technology Toolkit.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead of a team of Automation Analysts and Developers who are responsible for transforming business processes through the identification, assessment, and analysis of all or part of a process in relation to its suitability to process automation; and if progressed, deliver the end-to-end design, development and deployment of automations into the production environment.
  • Management and prioritisation of the process opportunity pipeline to ensure Analyst and Developer resource utilisation is optimised, process owners / stakeholders are informed of delivery progress and there is clear transparency in the prioritisation of process automation activity, so that focus on delivering significant return on investment is achieved.
  • Oversee the integration, testing and deployment of automated processes in to the production environment, ensuring adherence to PTH delivery governance throughout to maximise business benefit and ensure successful implementation of new automations.
  • Promote and maintain the PTH Service Proposition, generating new automation engagements across L&G Group so PTH annual development targets are achieved.
  • Support in the identification and integration of new technologies into the PTH Technology Toolkit to continually evolve Hub’s capability in transforming business processes through automation.
  • Ensure compliance with PTH’s Automation Playbook, Automation Development Standards and L&G’s policies and procedures to produce high quality automations through robust delivery governance.
  • Treating Customers Fairly (TCF): Ensure that all customers/stakeholders are treated fairly in line with Legal & General’s principles on Customer Experience, Employee Engagement, Continuous Improvement and TCF policy.
  • Manage, motivate and develop employees at all levels, in a manner that is consistent with the Company’s policies and procedures the including Partnership Agreement, to maximise the performance of the area.

Qualifications

Desirable but not essential:

  • IIBA Certification of Competency in Business Analysis™ (CCBA®)
  • Blue Prism Induction
  • Blue Prism ROM Architect
  • ITSQB Foundation Certificate
  • Green Belt Six Sigma

Knowledge

  • Extensive knowledge of multiple automation applications within the PTH Technology Toolkit, including:
    • Blue Prism Process & Object Studio
    • Xceptor
    • Duco
  • Extensive knowledge of Office software packages such as MS Office, Business Objects and MS Access
  • Extensive understanding of SQL (Transact & DB2) to build efficient, complex queries & Database Applications
  • Extensive knowledge of Visual Basic for Applications (VBA)
  • Familiarity with Python / Java / C/C++
  • Understanding the Regulatory framework of the UK Financial Services industry

Experience

  • Experience of working within Agile / DevOps environments
  • Experience of automation development
  • Understanding of operating a production digital workforce
  • Experience of managing IT service and / or systems development teams.
