We are looking for someone to join our busy Annuity Underwriting team in our Cardiff office. 

• Accurately assess, document and make appropriate offers for enhanced annuity applications within the autonomy limits for role

• Provide technical support to peers and colleagues through checking, mentoring & coaching

• Capture appropriate management information, from which accurate reports can be delivered and effective business decisions made

• Contribute to the team meeting or exceeding the level of service that our customers expect
• Take responsibility for the continual development of the skills, knowledge and ability required to perform the role
• Participate in projects that improve customer outcomes and/or the efficiency of the underwriting process
• Ensure ongoing compliance with all legislative, regulatory & internal processes and controls specific to the role

• Has good understanding of the diseases & risk factors associated with early mortality in middle aged and elderly lives (50 years upwards)
• Shows appropriate analysis & judgement that enables consistently sound & commercially attractive underwriting decisions to be made
• Demonstrates effective communication skills through all customer facing media; interactions with customers and colleagues result in positive relationships

• Willing and able to share knowledge, including technical support & feedback to peers, & the regular reporting of business critical business intelligence  

• Can organise and plan own time effectively, following defined control procedures appropriately 
• Shows awareness of wider market considerations, key competitors, current market conditions, understanding of the basis of reinsurance, etc.
