This is a great opportunity for a driven, strategic focused HR professional to join Legal & General Retirement at a time of exciting transformation and growth.  The role will challenge your innate ability to build influencing relationships with progressive, dynamic business leaders who are passionate about the people and culture agenda being a core element of their strategic focus.  You will have the opportunity to shape and deliver on all aspects of the employee proposition, leveraging expertise from the Centres of Excellence, to ensure alignment and fit for purpose people solutions.

Partner with the LGRR CEO and leadership team, providing proactive support and challenge on all aspects of people and organisation development that contribute to the strategic goals of the business

Build strong relationships with key stakeholders and drive the development and implementation of the overall HR strategy, leading people programme projects when appropriate/necessary

Understand the business, commercially, culturally and strategically in order to develop and embed improvement across employee engagement, development, diversity and inclusion, talent and succession planning, L&D, performance management and resource planning

Work with the CEO and business leaders to shape the LGRR culture (in line with L&G organisational purpose and values) and ensure these are brought to life within the business and are meaningful to all LGRR teams/individuals. Support the business in building an ambitious,  dynamic, agile and collaborative place to work

Ensure the business is able to attract, develop and retain the best people in the market. Build workforce plans which include resource, structure and capability considerations to support business growth and delivery

Lead the annual cycle of people activity, including pay review; performance calibration and Voice survey

To take the lead in all matters with regard to the management of employees, ensuring that management discretion is used in a consistent manner and that the area follows the Group’s policies and procedures including the Partnership Agreement to maximise business performance

Define, develop and deliver a strategy that enables the business to maintain access to suitable trained and competent staff and is aligned to Legal & General’s Customer Experience and Treating Customer Fairly policy.

Qualifications:

Ideally degree level. Post grad qualification in HR e.g. CIPD (or alternative business qualification)

Knowledge:

Broad knowledge across all core HR disciplines

Skills:

Experience of building strong relationships with multiple senior stakeholders and influencing outcomes

Proven skills in implementing HR strategies aligned to business goals

Experience of leading organisational change with a focus on talent management, organisation design  and culture change

Understanding and practical application of project management techniques

Influencing senior leadership teams on HR matters and linking this to business strategy

Experience of providing effective HR partnership to support to all levels of the business with an awareness of the different challenges that are faced

Capability to source, gather, analyse and interpret business focused HR data to enable effective decision making

Demonstrates conceptual, analytical and strategic thinking abilities

Understanding of people development methodologies and current best practice

Financial Services industry experience is desirable but not essential

A credible track record of success in delivering engagement, resourcing, development and OD strategies which have impacted positively on the organisation
