The Senior Technology Standards Manager is responsible for maintaining, interpreting and developing the LGRI Business Technology & Transformation (BT&T) technology standards and protocols in order to ensure the highest levels of credibility, relevance and performance for BT&T.   The role holder will be responsible for ensuring compliance with internal and external regulations and expected standards. They will also need to ensure that control points are appropriately implemented within our delivery methods and processes.

Purpose of role:

The Senior Technology Standards Manager is responsible for maintaining, interpreting and developing the LGRI Business Technology & Transformation (BT&T) technology standards and protocols in order to ensure the highest levels of credibility, relevance and performance for BT&T.   The role holder will be responsible for ensuring compliance with internal and external regulations and expected standards. They will also need to ensure that control points are appropriately implemented within our delivery methods and processes.

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Provide technology assurance across third-parties to manage / deliver elements of the LGR BT&T portfolio; ensure appropriate third-party on boarding and where applicable, operational capabilities are integrated into BAU.
  • Ensure that IT controls are appropriately implemented within delivery methods and other relevant processes. Monitor and report on compliance with the implemented IT controls.
  • Maintain a comprehensive catalogue of IT standards and any associated actions or mitigations required to ensure compliance.
  • Ensuring on-going enhancement and maintenance of our development methods, and ensure that IT DevOps quality assurance processes are established and executed. Work collaboratively with and influence the evolution and enhancement of IT delivery methods and associated processes.
  • Assist the Head of Security, Risk & Standards in the oversight of all key controls necessary to maintain a safe and operationally prudent technology environment.
  • Create and lead a BT&T Technology Standards Forum, allowing technology best practice and experience to be collected, shared and implemented.
  • To take the lead in all matters with regard to the management of employees, ensuring that management discretion is used in a consistent manner and that the area follows the Group’s policies and procedures including the Partnership Agreement to maximise business performance.
  • Ensure that the principles of Conduct Risk are embedded into your day to day operations to deliver good customer outcomes at all times. Ensure that all business processes and internal controls within your role are designed and performed in a way that delivers good 
  • customer outcomes (TCF) and demonstrates effective management of Conduct Risk

Qualifications, knowledge and skills:

Qualifications:

  • Degree and/or MBA educated in related area desirable but not essential or demonstrable equivalent experience at this level.
  • Technical, Prince2, Project management and/or Agile qualifications
  • PROSCI/Adkar & change qualifications - desirable but not mandatory

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

  • Regulated Industry background preference
  • Proven track record of ensuring standards and frameworks are in place and portfolio plans align effectively  for delivery of large, complex, change and technology initiatives
  • Portfolio management and assurance experience with track record of effective management and reporting
  • Track record of delivery of Portfolio plans to ensure and adhere to technology standards across complex geographical / functional matrix organizations. 
  • Technology appreciation and awareness
  • Track record of building effective relationships to ensure approved agreed implementation plans
  • Proven background in adapting to trends and openness to new ideas

Leadership:

  • Ensuring assurance confidence across all levels with technical and non-technical audiences 
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail with demonstrated ability to work independently focusing on priorities, and managing a high-volume of tasks, deadlines, requirements, and decisions
  • Collaborative worker who freely shares their knowledge and experience with good influencing skills, ability to develop and mentor individuals 
  • Develop, get buy-in and deliver approaches across the organisation and wider division and track record of building effective relationships
  • Effective at making good decisions and delivering great outcomes in in line with IT&T strategy
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to successfully engage and influence a broad range of individuals across various internal and external businesses and support functions
