Reporting to the Commercial Director an opportunity exists for a technically excellent Surveyor to manage the surveying duties associated with individual projects, with specific emphasis on pre-construction programming, tendering and subsequent budget control/reporting. 

Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

To prepare build cost estimates based on accurate cost libraries and assumptions, reflective of site specific details and characteristics.

Ensuring all feasibility inputs are realistic and approved by relevant department heads prior to issuing cost plans and setting prelim assumptions.

Set up of robust fee budgets/monitoring process and production of accurate, up to date expenditure figures for monthly Cost Value Reconciliation (CVR) meetings with Commercial, Finance and the Managing Director.

Preparing and issuing Pre-Commencement appraisals and locking of the development budget for duration of project.

Checking of civil and structural engineering drawings prior to the issue of subcontractors packages. 

Ensuring all tendered work complies with Group Procurement policies.

Responsible for issuing tender documents, subsequent examination and preparing a detailed tender analysis and recommendation for each area tendered by subcontractor and supplier

Responsible for subcontractor/supplier appointments and for inspecting/approving individual third parties’ insurance indemnities, Inland Revenue tax certificates etc.

Ensuring timely placement of sub-contractor contracts following an adequate tender programme and ensuring all relevant information is available at tender issue.

Fostering strong relationships with subcontractors and suppliers and helping to create a network of reputable partners.

 

Knowledge & Capability:

A proven track record of delivery as a Surveyor within an established residential developer with a detailed understanding of building regulations and thorough understanding of technical detailing and the tendering process. You will likely possess an appropriate professional qualification (Member of Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors) and relevant degree or equivalent in Surveying
