To manage and monitor product technical aspects within Individual Annuities, acting as first-line owner of regulatory and legislative consultations and policy statements, reflecting departmental opinion in Group responses.

To manage and monitor product technical aspects within Individual Annuities, acting as first-line owner of regulatory and legislative consultations and policy statements, reflecting departmental opinion in Group responses. Ensuring that products and processes remain compliant, in line with change and continue to meet the needs of our customers.

To act as a subject matter expert in supporting product initiatives and developments, following internal governance and complying with regulatory requirements.

  • Review and analyse regulatory and legislative change, providing a summary of requirements to the business. Work with colleagues to evaluate the impact of change, recommending any necessary changes to products, processes and literature, where appropriate.
  • Work with key stakeholders to assess consultation papers on proposed regulatory or legislative change, co-ordinating and preparing views on behalf of Individual Annuities, for inclusion in Group responses.
  • Provide product technical and regulatory support and input to Individual Annuities or Group strategic projects, as required.
  • Represent L&G in collaborative industry meetings, ensuring that our interests are represented and the views of our competitors are shared.
  • Liaise with business partners to incorporate shared processes into regulatory change management
  • Act as deputy to the Head of Product Technical & Regulatory during periods of absence.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of annuity products and existing regulation and legislation governing these, and the retirement industry.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of the regulatory pre-retirement and at-retirement requirements.
  • Knowledge of the pensions and retirement industry, including key participants.
  • Knowledge of retirement options and individual retirement products.
  • Understanding of at-retirement processes
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Excellent relationship development skills.
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to prioritise demands across multiple projects
