We are looking to hire a Distribution Oversight Manager to own and manage oversight of the distribution of L&G Retail Retirement Income (LGRRI) products through its intermediary broker relationships. The successful candidate will ensure LGRRI products are presented and sold in a clear, fair and accurate manner, adhering to all necessary regulatory standards.

 

To own and manage oversight of the distribution of L&G Retail Retirement Income (LGRRI) products through its intermediary broker relationships, transacted on both an advised and non-advised basis.

To ensure the LGRRI products are presented and sold in a clear, fair and accurate manner, without bias, adhering to all necessary regulatory standards to achieve good customer outcomes.

To embed and maintain the role and oversight in accordance with the L&G Distribution Oversight framework.

Responsibilities include:

  • Develop, own and maintain a plan of effective and consistent monitoring of customer outcomes through the oversight of third party distribution activity on both an advised and non-advised basis. Monitoring will be undertaken through field visits or desktop assessment (telephone interviews) depending on the potential business risk.
  • Manage the Distribution Oversight framework within the LGRRI business to ensure appropriate information is gathered, collated and recorded to enable a robust assessment of LGRRI distribution partners and the associated risks.
  • Report to the Distribution Oversight Management Committee, providing a sufficient level of evidence of oversight and findings on distribution activity and behaviours. Prepare management information, including risk reports and schedules of activity, for review and monitoring at the Distribution Oversight Management Committee, and other LGRRI governance forums as neccesary.
  • Interact and liaise with key stakeholders and distributors to investigate any unusual distribution activity identified as part of the performance of this role, or identified and reported by other persons in the business.
  • Maintain accurate, clear and concise record keeping and ensure that MI is effective and appropriate for monitoring and improvement of Distributor processes.
  • Maintain an update to date understanding of any relevant regulatory requirements and changes connected with distribution oversight, ensuing these are considered and applied in the undertaking of the role when assessing the suitability of Distributors.
  • A good, demonstrable, knowledge of the pensions and retirement market.
  • Experience in, or knowledge of, the IFA and intermediary markets, including Networks, Service Providers, and Vertically Integrated models.
  • Extensive and demonstrable experience of undertaking distribution oversight with third parties, irrespective of the product line.
  • An understanding and experience of a multi-channel distribution business included advised and non-advised sales.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including reporting writing and presentation skills.
  • Excellent relationship development and management skills, able to create and build strong working relationships with distribution partners, including influencing and negotiation, and internal stakeholders and business areas to support the performance of this role.
  • Ability to work independently and set own tasks, priorities and deliverables against deadlines.
