We are looking to recruit an experienced Procurement Manager who can lead an assigned part of Legal & General’s IT Procurement category to deliver optimal sourcing outcomes in accordance with risk appetite, policy and regulatory requirements. 

This role can be based in either our London or Hove offices.

  • We are looking for candidates who can create, implement and drive the IT procurement and category strategies in support of business strategies, objectives, budgets and risk appetites.
  • This will include providing advice and guidance, including development of sourcing strategies, to internal customers and stakeholders to achieve optimal commercial outcomes across Legal & General.
  • You will manage risks associated with IT purchasing activity and supply chain in accordance with the stated risk appetite through establishing compliance with agreed group policies, legal and regulatory requirements, and by engendering professional ethics.
  • You will be responsible for managing and leading the commercial, legal and service level negotiations of contracts, renewals and disputes both directly and through the IT Procurement Team including the interaction of internal stakeholders, suppliers and external legal counsel.
  • Make use of negotiation strategies and techniques to ensure that business objectives are delivered within cost and risk parameters. Create, maintain and ensure the use of advantageous contractual precedents.
  • You will maintain expert market knowledge and awareness of developments in purchasing techniques, product technology and supply market-place activity in order to identify and exploit commercial opportunities. Inform, advise and challenging stakeholders where appropriate. Share and impart knowledge with the team through regular communications and development plans.
  • Take the lead in all matters with regard to the management of employees, ensuring that management discretion is used in a consistent manner and that the area follows the Group’s policies and procedures, including the Partnership Agreement with Unite, to maximise business performance.
  • Extensive understanding of IT, supplier landscapes and commercial and contractual methods and strategies and ability to apply these to deliver values?
  • Extensive experience working in IT procurement in the Financial sector and exposure to the complete sourcing and contracting lifecycle?
  • Expected to lead and develop a team of IT Procurement professionals while role modelling L&G behaviours through engagement of stakeholders.
