We have an exciting opportunity for Customer Service Consultants to join our team in Hove. If you have good administration skills and enjoy dealing with people, then this could be the opportunity for you.

  • Dealing with broker enquiries via email or telephone
  • Process work in accordance with customer target dates
  • Hold good working relations with internal/external customers
  • Expressing the ‘Right first time’ mentality/behaviour
  • Maintain high results throughout competency monitoring
  • Display a positive and motivated attitude
  • Achieve productivity targets
  • Work within departmental service level agreements
  • Attend monthly 1:1 meetings with team management
  • Take ownership of work
  • Familiarise and understand the FCA’s Treating Customers Fairly legislation
  • Produce work that it is accurate and within agreed time frames. Ensure work is right first time by following current procedures. Deliver what you have promised by taking ownership, in addition to commit to your role and Group Protection.
  • Deliver a consistently high standard of customer service by developing and maintaining relationships with customers. Ensure enquiries/requests are prioritised and resolved efficiently; ensuring departmental service levels are met.
  • Treat all your customers fairly by fully understanding and practising the principles of our Customer Service brand, as set out by the Treating Customers Fairly Policy.
  • Take ownership of your personal development by pro-actively seeking to learn new skills. Work closely with your team manager, to meet your agreed personal development plan.
  • Be aware of the current Group Protection portfolio including any new products/features that may launch as part of our proposition. Take ownership of reading and following guidelines as stated in formal communications.
  • Abide and ensure the correct application of regulations and legislation, as set by the Association of British Insurers (ABI), Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) and Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs (HRMC).
  • Strong administrative skills
  • Good attention to detail
  • Working knowledge of excel ( including formulas)
  • Able to handle direct customer contact effectively on a range of subjects including complaint handling
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Achieve objectives in a results driven environment
  • Experience of operating within a customer facing environment
  • Able to remain motivated within a fast changing growing business and to pass this flexibility on to peers
  • Must be comfortable with the use of Microsoft Office         
  • Able to think quickly, accurately and have the ability to make decisions within authority of the role
  • Desirable - Relevant understanding of products and Group Protection processes at a Competent level

The start date for this position will be 16th May. You will need to be available for a full 6 weeks training. Please be aware that we won't be able to accommodate any leave during this time.

Shift patterns for this role are 35hrs a week, - Monday to Friday - 9am to 5pm
