We are looking for a qualified actuary to report to the Head of Commercial Development & Insight in the Retail Protection Commercial team. 

We are looking for a qualified actuary to report to the Head of Commercial Development & Insight in the Retail Protection Commercial team.  The job duties are to support the end to end delivery of assumption setting processes and data analytics, key tasks include:

1, Assumption setting and experience investigations

  • Deliver robust pricing and reporting assumptions in line with stakeholders’ expectations and deliver improvements to the methodology and processes as required.
  • Develop the company policy for experience investigations and assumption setting processes ensuring that we meet our obligations to customers and adhere to industry best practice.
  • Development of the product range and reinsurance arrangements
  • Support the improvement of reinsurance arrangements by providing experience data for reinsurance tenders, carrying out adhoc analyses and answering queries from reinsurers on the information provided.
  • Assist in the development of the product range including new distribution deals by carrying out experience investigation and adhoc analyses as required.
  • Represent the actuarial team as a lead subject matter expert for Insurance wide projects and developments, providing technical support and communicating with relevant stakeholders.

2: Data analytics

  • Assist in the development of the Retail Protection Data Analytics team in order to:
  • Interpret the results of the experience investigations to develop and refine the pricing and best estimate basis, by introducing new data analysis and modelling techniques.
  • Lead on the introduction of new techniques to improve / develop the experience investigation process
  • Use of data analytics to generate insight into the Retail Protection Business with a view to generating additional value. 

 

3: Management and communication

  • Present and communicate changes to the wider team, stakeholders and governance committees.
  • Ensure that the principles of TCF are adhered to, such as understanding the needs of our customers, managing internal customer expectations and working to agreed timescales.
  • Qualified actuary
  • An excellent knowledge of assumption setting and experience investigations
  • A good working knowledge of Retail Protection products
  • Excellent IT skills including Excel and SAS
  • Good time management and communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
