We are looking for a fixed term / secondment candidate for our Accounts Payable Administrator role who will be responsible for the processing and payment of staff expense claims and supplier invoices.

This role is offered as a fixed term contract / secondment until November 2019.

 

The Accounts Payable team is responsible for the processing and payment of staff expense claims and supplier invoices for Legal and General. 

This role is offered as a fixed term contract / secondment until November 2019.

The main job duties for this role are as follows:

  • Validate and manually process supplier invoices (UK and international) on a daily basis into an Oracle based accounting system. 
  • Manage the invoices through the system; ensuring payment is made when required.
  • Quality check all data input against source data prior to payment to ensure 100% accuracy.
  • Audit, query and authorise payment for staff expense claims on the Oracle based expenses system (i-Expenses) ensuring all items being claimed are allowable from both a HMRC and Legal & General perspective.
  • Follow processes to ensure the setting up or amendments to suppliers used by Legal & General are followed and all reports run and evidence collated.  Also the setting up and amendments to staff accounts for payment of staff expense claims.
  • Ensure all documentation (both internally and for users of our service) is up to date and advertised if required.
  • Compile and run MI based on requests into the team from data extracted from the Oracle based accounting system.
  • Reconciliations are completed weekly / monthly on a number of tasks within the team from an audit perspective.
  • Handle internal and external queries received by the team professionally in a timely, accurate manner.  This can be by e-mail or telephone.
  • Assist the manager and team with projects affecting the team as and when they arise.

Knowledge

  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
  • Previous experience of Oracle accounting systems is desirable but not essential as full training will be given.
  • An understanding of Legal & General's internal set-up divisionally.
  • Experiencing of extracting, manipulating and reporting MI.

Skills

  • Accuracy - vitally important for this role.
  • Good written and verbal communication - comfortable to speak to all levels of staff / management.
  • Highly numerate with good analytical and problem solving skills.
  • A good team-player, works and supports others.
  • Seeks solutions to problems and suggests improvements to existing processes.
  • Builds and develops good relationships with internal staff and external suppliers.
