The role of the Senior Investment Analyst is to support the Investment Portfolio Director in the implementation and maintenance of the agreed investment strategy of Shareholder Funds through directly held listed assets or derivative overlays as agreed. In particular the role holder will:

  • Support the management and oversight responsibilities of the Investment Strategy team in relation to LGC and Group market risks
  • Contribute to setting and implementation of the investment strategy for the Shareholder Fund, to meet the investment objectives of the Fund and comply with any Group/Fund portfolio limits
  • Contribute to decisions on asset allocation and portfolio construction.  Demonstrate that the fund is compliant with agreed tolerances
  • Play a key role in the fund manager selection process and undertake fund manager monitoring in compliance with the agreed framework.
  • To provide input on the Shareholder Fund risk framework
  • Update and drive improvements to documentation and procedures notes connected with the provision of investment and monitoring services. Also ensure that compliance with controls and regulatory requirements are properly evidenced

 

 

Qualifications:

  • Strong quantitative skills
  • Numerate University Honours Degree/Post Graduate qualification
  • Partial or full completion of CFA program is desirable

Knowledge:

  • Good understanding of investment manager oversight and governance
  • Good understanding of multiple asset classes
  • Good understanding of Insurance company balance sheet risks and regulatory regime

Skills:

  • Experience in a top down investment or multi-asset investment role
  • Strong and demonstrable track record of interacting well with large range of stakeholders (including specifically asset managers)
  • Strategic thinker – ability to think long term and understand the impact of external events on the determination and implementation of investment strategy
  • Highly commercial approach
  • Excellent written and numeracy skills
  • Good analytical skills
  • Strong interpersonal and influencing skills
  • Good understanding of investment risk
  • Strong Team Player
