We are recruiting for an IT Procurement Manager in our London offices

Key Responsibilities

                                               

  1. Provide an exceptional customer experience:

Customer satisfaction is at the heart of what we do in IT Procurement. The applicant must be able to demonstrate this in abundance.

  1. MANAGE RISKS

Manage risks linked to purchasing activity by supporting compliance with agreed group policies, legal requirements, regulation and by engendering professional ethics. Mitigate potential problems through the enforcement of appropriate terms and governance as well as reacting to issues that arise.

Constantly seek ways to upgrade and improve the performance of the existing and potential supply base, seeking ways to drive innovation in processes, reduce costs, reduce risks, improve performance and stimulate competition between qualified suppliers.

  1.  SUPPLIER SELECTION

Undertake the evaluation and continued management of suppliers, ensuring appropriately rigorous selection and negotiation of agreements for the supply and outsourcing of goods and services for the business in order to achieve best value both individually and through the IT Procurement Team.

  1. COMMERCIAL NEGOTIATIONS

Undertake commercial, legal and service level negotiations of contracts and renewals. Make use of a variety of negotiation strategies and techniques to ensure that business objectives are delivered.  Create, maintain and ensure the use of advantageous contractual precedents.

Manage the interaction of Legal & General, external legal counsel and supplier representatives.

  1. MANAGING INFORMATION

Manage an accurate and live procurement pipeline of information to enable  good decision-making. Align and optimise resources to relevant projects and category initiatives to ensure the delivery of customer and stakeholder objectives.

  1. MANAGE SUPPLIER RELATIONSHIPS

Manage supplier relationships and necessary customer interfaces involved with the supply, supervision and maintenance of goods and services falling within the IT Procurement Team’s assigned responsibilities, working with and supporting the Supplier Relationship Management Team. Monitor supplier performance.

  1. EXPERT MARKET KNOWLEDGE

Maintain expert market knowledge and awareness of developments in purchasing techniques, product technology and supply market-place activity in order to identify and exploit commercial opportunities, challenging directors and senior management where appropriate. Shares and imparts this knowledge with the team through regular communications and development plans.

  1. TREATING CUSTOMERS FAIRLY

In all situations where suppliers provide goods and services directly to our external customers, ensure that procurement activity and supplier relationships are managed in line with L&G’s Customer Experience and Treating Customers Fairly Policy.

TECHNICAL CAPABILITIES

A strong procurement professional;

Private sector experience;

An applied understanding of IT Procurement including SaaS, Data Security & Cloud.

PERSONAL CAPABILITIES

Able to build productive relationships;

Multi-tasking and prioritising skills;

Good prioritisation skills;

Flexible approach to adapt plans;

Good communications skills - written and verbal;

Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
