The Technical Claims Audit Consultant will provide a comprehensive technical appeals & audit service for the Group Protection benefits area ensuring that set rules & regulations for products and processes are consistent with strategy and philosophy.

• Provide a comprehensive assessment of Group Protection Product claims appeals, deciding whether to accept or reject the appeal, whilst meeting the expectations of our customers
• Conduct and deliver regular monthly audits of the decisions made by the Claims teams in relation to the Group Protection products.
• Produce & circulate audit and complaint reports and feedback to appropriate managers, individuals and group forums relating to findings and claims activity
• Ensuring that set rules & regulations for products and processes are consistent with our strategy and philosophy.
• Provided detailed complaints handling and resolution
• Financial Ombudsman Service (FOS) cases are handled fairly and that action is taken to reduce the causes of complaints
• Develop, document and review our benefits philosophies, techniques & practices, reviewing competitor activities, in order to ensure that we remain at the forefront of best industry practice
• Demonstrate significant levels of knowledge on all technical benefits issues and regulatory/legislative issues and be a point of reference

The jobholder requires a good working knowledge of the financial services market including:

• Group Protection market and its products
• Equality Act (2010)
• GDPR
• Financial Ombudsman Service
• Access to Medical Reports Act
• Good understanding of medical conditions and the effect these can have on an individual’s ability to work
