We are looking for an MI Analyst to join our team in Hove.

MI / Monitoring: Develop, interpret and manage the production of MI for the key performance drivers of the business.  Use this to monitor demographic and financial experience on an on-going basis.

Within this:

Analyse large volumes of data to objectively identify trends and draw appropriate conclusions.

Ensure rigorous processes and checks are maintained to enable accurate analysis and reporting.

Assist in the development and up-keep of the analysis systems, such as Excel, SQL, SAS MI and Prophet.

Continually seek opportunities to deliver improvements in efficiency, accuracy and business insight.

Data integrity: Implement monitoring and controls to ensure appropriate levels of policy and accounting data integrity for actuarial reporting.  Seek improvements to data quality, by contributing to system developments and by working with internal & external customers.

Experience & Assumption setting: Support development and production of the more in depth regular demographic and financial experience investigations, the results of which feed consistently into pricing strategy and assumption setting for financial reporting. 

Pricing / Profitability: Support development of pricing strategies, for new and existing products and features, that enable growth in market share, whilst maintaining required levels of profitability and return on capital, all in line with the Treating Customers Fairly policy. 

Risk: Identify and document risks relating to the existing portfolio and new business.

General business support: Provide support as required to support the WHP business and wider onward relationships. In particular, work with Distribution and Operations to develop and maintain useful MI to allow them to monitor the performance of their teams, and the performance of the business.

Ability to analyse & interpret data, with contextual overview, and present the conclusions in non-technical language

Appreciation of how assumption and pricing recommendations will impact core financial metrics

Preferably with prior knowledge of Workplace Health & Protection products.

Prior Excel knowledge is essential, and other systems knowledge (e.g. SQL, SAS) would be an advantage.
