We are looking to recruit a Business Improvement Consultant to support the management of a multi-faceted Business Improvement team to deliver against our customer, business, culture and controls objectives. You will also provide change and continuous improvement expertise along with a customer outcome focus to drive forward successful process transformations.

 

Principal Accountabilities:

To identify process improvements to support the attainment of customer, service and commercial targets, using structured methodologies and project governance.

Investigate, analyse and model business processes and information flows using appropriate analysis techniques in order to identify opportunities for improvement.

Propose solutions (including automation), identifying alignment with business requirements, making recommendations to business managers taking into account costs, benefits and risks.

The management, delivery and embedding of process improvement and change projects that have an impact on operations and which support the business strategies. Including the planning, scheduling, controlling and reporting of project activities.

The effective communication and engagement of stakeholders, sponsors and Senior Managers to support effective decision-making and to manage the smooth and integrated delivery of projects.

To identify and manage risks and issues to ensure that critical problems are escalated at the earliest opportunity and mitigating actions are implemented

To ensure that projects are formally closed, that lessons learned are captured, follow up actions are assigned and that benefits realisation planning has been initiated.

To contribute to the ongoing development to embed and maintain a culture of continuous improvement.

To adhere to all TCF principles as relevant to the role (as per attached TCF Accountabilities Listing - Senior Managers) and ensure wider department adheres.

Where appropriate, to lead, motivate and contribute to the development of colleagues in a manner this is consistent with the company’s policies and procedures and support the business strategies.

Skills:

Analytical Thinking

Acquiring understanding of a problem or situation by breaking it down systematically into its component parts and identifying the relationships between these parts.

Business Analysis Techniques

Proficient in techniques; which help in modelling and understanding a business and its operation. Examples: functional business models, statistical process control.

Business Process Improvement Techniques

Proficient in techniques for streamlining business processes; which have been modelled and understood. Examples: lean methodology, error proofing, value added assessment, process cycle time reduction, future proofing, resilience, reliability, cost effectiveness. E.g. current business case templates/docs.

Business Proposals

Proficient in methods and techniques for preparing and presenting business benefits and statements of requirements both orally and in writing.

Decision Making

Making decisions at the appropriate time, taking into account the needs of the situation, priorities, constraints and the availability of necessary information.

Customer Service Delivery

Understanding of customer service delivery and best practice in process, systems and customer improvement design and delivery in this arena.

Leadership

Able to lead and engage others and also to support their skills development.

Other

Lean – Value stream mapping, process flow mapping, line balancing, activity sampling, management and setting of KPI’s.
