This is a role sitting within the LGRR Lifetime Mortgage Finance team, working closely with the LTM Solutions Actuary on the commercial and financial management of the Lifetime Mortgage business.

Lifetime Mortgages is one of the few growth areas in the UK life insurance industry. This role offers the opportunity to join a dynamic team and help support the growth of the business, which is a key element of the L&G Retail Retirement strategy.

This is a role sitting within the LGRR Lifetime Mortgage Finance team, working closely with the LTM Solutions Actuary on the commercial and financial management of the Lifetime Mortgage business. This includes responsibilities such as:

  • Measuring and developing improved metrics for monitoring the profitability and risk of the LTM business,
  • Development of forecasting tools to improve the forward looking view of the business,
  • Performing data/statistical analysis of economic and demographic experience to improve insights into the LTM portfolio and assist the Pricing and Commercial Actuaries,
  • Working with the LTM Capital Actuary to perform statistical analysis for the development or updating of Solvency II risk factor calibrations and SCR methodology,
  • Assist in the preparation of MI on the LTM portfolio for reporting to senior management.
  • Work closely with other stakeholders (commercial and investment teams) to perform adhoc analysis to support the delivery of new product initiatives to market, exploring capital optimisation transactions or wholesale opportunities.

The jobholder should be either a near-qualified actuarial student or with other demonstrable relevant skills (e.g. pricing or finance analyst) with some experience working in a quantitative role.

Skills required:

  • Experience working with Excel
  • Some experience with statistical analysis
  • Any knowledge of VBA, R or other coding language would be useful but not essential
  • Good personal planning and organisational/teamwork skills
  • Initiative in applying problem solving and analytical skills
  • The ability to communicate clearly and explain complex details clearly both within and outside the team
