We are recruiting for Investment Manager in our London offices

Principal Accountabilities:

To propose, obtain agreement to and implement investment strategies for the LGRR new business portfolio which meet the objectives of LGRR and comply with any divisional and group limits etc. Strategies will be agreed at the LGRR Retirement Capital Committee.  

To develop asset allocation, and demonstrate performance is in shape within overall LGR agreed tolerances, oversight and managing the New Business Investment Implementation process.

To instruct and monitor new business implementation investment & hedging strategy for LGIM fund management teams.

To take ownership of capital markets related pricing parameters, and providing market updates to LGRR pricing & underwriting committee. To act as the Subject Matter Expert for pricing assumptions that relate to Investments as appropriate

To provide steer to the LGR Direct Investments Team in particularly with reference to the fit with the investment strategy and agreed risk appetite to support Retail Business.

To assist the wider LGRR retail products team in the design and delivery of innovative solutions that help LGRR gain competitive advantage in the market.

To build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders ( LGRR pricing team, LGIM, Treasury, LGRR Finance, Risk, RS&A) in the delivery or those services 

To liaise with ALM strategy manager and to ensure ALM risk framework is in line with LGR new business return and capital efficient objectives.

Ensure that the principles of Conduct Risk are embedded into your day to day operations to deliver good customer outcomes at all times. Ensure that all business processes and internal controls within your role are designed and performed in a way that delivers good customer outcomes and demonstrates effective management of Conduct Risk

Knowledge:

ESSENTIAL

Understanding of liability driven investing- either in a pensions or an insurance setting

Broad and demonstrable understanding of various fixed income asset classes, and their role within portfolio asset allocation

DESIRABLE

Decent understanding of Insurance company balance sheets and capital and profit reporting regimes

Decent understanding of Solvency II regulatory framework

Strong and demonstrable understanding of asset valuation concepts and models

Strong capital market knowledge

Good understanding of pension risk transfer markets

Skills:

ESSENTIAL

Strong communication skills

Strong and demonstrable track record of interacting well with large range of stakeholders

Highly commercial approach.

Excellent written and numeracy skills

Good analytical skills

DESIRABLE

Proven record of successful experience in providing risk management solutions and investment advice to insurance companies and pension funds

Strategic thinker – ability to think long term and understand the impact of external events on the determination and implementation of investment strategy
