We are seeking a customer-focused Underwriting Administrator with excellent communication skills to carry out a range of processing activities to facilitate the provision of effective support to the Underwriting Team.

PURPOSE: 

  • To carry out a range of processing activities to facilitate the provision of effective support to the Underwriting Team.
  • There is a requirement for all personnel to adopt a flexible approach in supporting all areas of the business as and when required.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:                                                

  • Handle incoming broker calls regarding queries on Lifetime Mortgage applications from submission to Offer stage. Enable efficient resolution of any barriers escalated by brokers.
  • Create work queue items and scan documents to the system from incoming broker emails ensuring a quick turnaround and SLA’s are met.
  • Proactively manage relationships with brokers to enable efficient management of ongoing applications, ensuring that any issues that arise are effectively resolved.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of all products and rates.
  • Proactively seek to engage with brokers and feedback in to the wider team key information that can influence the development of the Legal and General Home Finance proposition.
  • Maintain close working relationship with the Underwriting team to assist in the achievement of targets and objectives.  
  • Actively work with operational teams to continuously improve the service to our brokers. Seek to reduce customer effort and improve efficiency.
  • Proactively support the use of technology within the team and ensure the integrity of data held through the use of all relevant systems.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to personal development by implementing your personal development plan, to maximise your own potential and contribute to Legal and General Home Finance.
  • Act as a positive role model to others by consistently demonstrating the desired behaviours and principles, whilst maintaining an expert knowledge of products, systems and legislative/ regulatory requirements
  • Adhere to all Legal and General policies and procedures including Treating Customers Fairly, Data Protection, Money Laundering and Complaints Process.

CORE SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:

  • Previous experience in a financial industry (beneficial)
  • Knowledge of mortgage processes (beneficial)
  • Previous experience in a contact centre/customer service (phone based) role (essential)
  • Minimum of GCSE and Mathematics or equivalent.
  • Strong verbal and written skills and attention to detail.
  • Understanding of Anti Money Laundering (AML), Treating Customers Fairly (TCF) and Data Protection requirements (beneficial)
