Reporting to the Finance Director, but working across the Executive Team and all departmental disciplines, the role holder is responsible for the design and implementation of the management information systems, including all IT, that will together support the efficient and effective running of the business. 

Reporting to the Finance Director, but working across the Executive Team and all departmental disciplines, the role holder is responsible for the design and implementation of the management information systems, including all IT, that will together support the efficient and effective running of the business. 

The role holder will establish the appropriate governance arrangements in order to have all team input into the design and implementation of the management systems; to ensure the proper implementation of the systems over time and their effective adoption by all departments.

The vision of the Affordable Homes business is ‘digital by default’ to deliver great customer service.  The post holder will be responsible for championing this principle, with the support of the entire Executive.

  • Establish the management information and data flows required within the business to operate an efficient affordable housing business, all the way from development prospecting, through to completion, letting, repairs, management, income collection and day-to-day operations.
  • Develop the required CRM systems for the business so that each client interaction is visible and is effectively and efficiently managed and that good management information is available in relation to transactions.
  • Understand the available IT options and packages that are available in the marketplace to provide the IT infrastructure for the business.
  • Be the lead person in the business responsible for understanding the required information flows to support the accurate design of an efficient operating system.
  • Be the lead person responsible for the design and maintenance of the business management system that links information flows together to support the efficient and effective operation of the business.
  • Establish and lead IT governance processes that ensure all areas of the business provide their requirements and then ensuring the systems that are designed and procured meet the user requirements.
  • Work as part of a team to understand the needs of the tenants and leaseholder clients, and purchasers, so that the services that the business provides meets with client needs and aspirations.
  • Lead the IT procurement processes and operate any procurement processes in accordance with Group policies.
  • Lead the successful implementation of new systems, including ensuring full training programmes are provided and teams are supported through a process of effective adoption so the full capabilities of the systems are utilised to drive business efficiency and productivity.
  • Be responsible for the periodic review of the systems to ensure that they continue to be developed to meet the current and future needs of the business and the customers.
  • Be aware of current and emerging technologies, and the organisations adoption technologies, so that the business is appraised of possible future opportunities.
  • Work with the business to understand the management information and ensure the management information dashboards are created and maintained to meet the needs of the business and the business areas.

Qualifications:

  • Degree (Numerate)
  • Prince (II) (Optional)

Experience

  • Programme and project management
  • IT systems design, specification, procurement and implementation, working from scratch
  • Experience in new business set up preferable, including setting up businesses at pace
  • IT management including managing IT suppliers
  • Financial management and management information system design and implementation
  • Experience in the affordable housing sector, or residential property management of commercial property management sectors
  • Organisational transformation
  • Back office and shared services functions

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Proven leadership skills and excellent people management skills
  • Gravitas and credibility to challenge and influence appropriately
  • Ability to influence and present complicated concepts in an understandable way
  • A strong team ethos, being energetic, entrepreneurial and to be an enabler and problem solver
  • Process driven with six sigma/Lean/Business Process Redesign experience
  • Numerate and competent with quantitative financial and management information
