We are recruiting for a BI Analyst in our Hove offices.

Reporting to, and under the general direction of the Head of Audit for Group, Data Analytics and Professional Practice, this role requires the job holder to:

  1. Provide high quality business intelligence for GIA’s reporting to the Group Audit Committee and other regular reporting to business stakeholders;
  2. Implement a strategy for gathering, managing, storing, sharing, analysing, securing and deleting data and information that supports GIA in understanding business strategy and in focusing audit work on the most important risks;
  3. Manage and control GIA’s core technology tools including its audit management system (MK Insight) to ensure data integrity, performance, continuity of service and resilience; and its data analytics tools including Tableau;
  4. Support GIA’s continual improvement programme, in particular related to optimising the use of the MKI tool, developing the function’s data analytics capabilities and continuous monitoring programme, and further improving management information available to GIA;
  5. Facilitate the on-boarding and training of GIA team members in relation to GIA’s tools and related procedures.

As a member of the Professional Practice team, the role contributes support to the overall primary role of supporting the Group Audit Committee and Executive Management in the protection of the assets, reputation and sustainability of Legal & General.

Qualifications

  • Likely to be a graduate with a numerical degree or qualification (e.g. maths, statistics etc) or an IT or analyst qualification and /or equivalent business experience.

Knowledge

  • Understanding of risk management principles and practices
  • Some knowledge of corporate governance principles and operational risk management, including related tools
  • Awareness of the Insurance, Savings and Fund Management industry, including products, strategy and external influences

Experience

  • Experience of working with IT tools related to work management, databases, and analytical tools
  • Analytical work related to the production and presentation of management information
  • Working in a professional services firm or regulated business (e.g. financial services)
  • Provision of support services to a professional team
  • Previous experience in an operational management, operational risk management, or internal audit practice management role is an advantage

  • Demonstrable accuracy and completeness of work performed

Programming skills (e.g. in R / Python), e.g. for unstructured text processing or machine learning
