We are looking for a fully qualified Finance Manager(L&G Partnerships Limited)  based in our Hove offce.

 

To manage the provision of management information and exercise financial control over Legal & General Partnerships Limited (LGPSL) business including the preparation of all statutory and financial regulatory and group returns. Maintain a comprehensive financial planning and management information to senior management of LGN and LGPSL in accordance with legislative and corporate guidelines.

 

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES       

 

Maintain the accuracy and integrity of the financial accounting records for LGPSL and prepare for review by the Statutory Reporting Manager / the Insurance/ Network Business Partner the quarterly financial accounts for inclusion within L&G Group consolidated accounts, together with the legal company subsidiary accounts, periodic FSA Insurance returns and statutory returns to other external bodies, ensuring adherence to all applicable company legislation and insurance regulations.

 

Develop and maintain the production of accurate and timely management information reports (e.g. monthly LGPSL Board and Management Team reports, reports for parent Group and Risk Committees), and undertake rigorous forecasting techniques in order that informed business decisions can be taken.

 

Manage and produce for review for the Statutory Reporting Manager/ the Insurance/ Network Business Partner, LGN the LGPSL five year and annual plan including preparation of the Annual Planning document to FSA standard for all relevant legal entities and to reforecast these plans throughout the year.

 

Provide guidance and challenge to the business in the preparation of the LGPSL budget and forecasts, ensure reporting deadlines are met, and budget submissions accurately reflect the areas needs and can be fully justified. 

 

Understanding and where applicable, review of VAM forms in conjunction with LGN, ensuring allocations are reviewed and updated on a timely basis in accordance with directives from the VAM team, in order to ensure robust cost allocation to products and functions to ensure that both pricing and margin calculations.

 

Cost maintenance and analysis for expenses for LGN and LGPSL. Monitoring of the Divisions’ Profit & Loss report to lead monthly discussions with Sales Directors to identify via Gap Analysis cost overspends, charges from LGAS (and other entities) and investment opportunities.

 

Design and implement the Divisional Incentive Schemes on an annual basis, reviewing quarterly to ensure the schemes objectives are being met and drivers used are appropriate.

 

To undertake investigations on projects and planning issues bringing a financial and commercial awareness to key decisions made. Model solutions and use sensitivity analyses to ensure that key risks are identified.

 

Ensure that appropriate management information, processes and systems are in place to provide support to other areas of the business so that customers are treated fairly in line with L&G’s Customer Experience and TCF Policy.

1. Financial Reporting

Detailed knowledge of current IFRS reporting requirements, working knowledge of upcoming standards and proposals, working knowledge of some aspects of US GAAP

 

2. Regulatory Reporting

Good knowledge of requirements of PRA and FCA.  

 

3. Change Management

Working knowledge of the principles of change management

4. Forecasting and budgeting;

Working with business units to ensure strong cost control;

Expense analysis and reporting.

Specific Experience

 

Strong post qualified experience in a financial services environment, preferably with a life insurer
