We are looking to recruit a Banks and Building Societies Marketing Manager in our Cardiff office.

Lead the development and execution of Insurance marketing plans for new and existing Bank and Building Society Partners across multiple brands, products and channels to maximise in year business performance and drive long term proftibale growth.

Delivery and execution of marketing activity and plans for B&BS partners in line with specified performance ratios, APE and profit targets.

Operate in a Business Partner capacity for the B&BS sales teams to :

Lead the annual and quarterly planning cycle, as well as running the monthly performance meetings

Interlock the marketing plans with the annual distribution plans

Amend plans based on feedback and performance

Innovate the marketing plans and campaigns by understanding new channels media and channels being deployed across the wider Insurance marketing activity

Attend key distribution and B&BS meetings to provide timely updates on all aspects of marketing

Create marketing business cases for investment

Drive the digital agenda for the B2B2C channel marketing plans for B&BSs ensuring that the latest developments and thinking are incorporated in the delivery of communications.

Build strong working relationship with the B&BSs’ partner marketing teams to understand the brands and identify opportunities to improve performance and optimise budget, frequently spending time at their offices to immerse yourself in their business.

Influence the development of new products or enhancements for the B&BS partners and own marketing plans to take these to market in a creative  and impactful way.

Manage budgets effectively, ensuring monies are spent, and monitored, to achieve optimum return on investment to achieve the required income ratios for a profitable commercial relationship.

Build and nurture collaborative working relationships with key stakeholders across the Insurance business, in particular:

  • Product Management Team to ensure current and future product development opportunities are considered and that partner requirements are catered for. Feed into future product development based on partner needs and the changing market as well as feeding into market research requirements.
  • Call centre and digital teams to optimise path to purchase and conversion
  • Insight and customer value to aid targeting and conversion
  • Propositions – to aid the delivery of motivating props for the partner brands
  • Direct Marketing – to share best practise across the portfolio of brands
  • Commercial and compliance teams for approvals of propositions and communications.
  • ASD & Compliance – to ensure adherence to regulation and FP processes
  • Agency teams – to drive creative and innovative communications that deliver business results

On an on-going basis, ensure that all campaigns meet the required brand guidelines, regulatory standards, and all L&G specific requirements for compliance/advertising approvals sign off.

Create an environment that proactively identifies and manages risk through the robust usage of the group risk infrastructure and ensure alignment with supplier management teams within the Insurance business.

Ensure that B&BS marketing consultants are aware of any existing or changes to, compliance, regulatory and company standards and to manage any process or contractual changes required.

Motivate, lead and develop the B&BS direct marketing team, planning and aligning resource appropriately.

Qualifications:

Educated to degree level or equivalent desirable

Professional qualifications in Marketing disciplines (e.g. CIM) essential

Skills, Knowledge & Experience:

Experience of defining and creating complex communication plans across multiple products and customer segments

Good understanding and proven track record of D2C or B2B2C channel marketing plans that have driven demonstrable business results

Excellent understanding of the latest methods of measuring and optimising marketing investments to drive sustainable profitable growth.

A digital expert with a strong understanding of  paid, earned and owned media and the role that each plays in the marketing mix for B2B and B2B2C audiences.

Significant understanding of the creative process and solid experience of managing marketing to drive creative excellence.

Robust general knowledge of the General Insurance & Protection Markets and emerging trends in intermediary and consumer behaviours.

Experience of developing and managing insight led customer marketing strategies and plans across a portfolio of services, products and brands, preferably within Financial services

Solid understanding of the risk and regulatory environment in which the financial services industry operates and the impact it has on marketing strategy, propositions and communications (FCA, PRA,)

Strong creative skills with the capability to assess every piece of communication through the eyes of the customer and the ability to inspire others to think creatively

Strong networking, influencing and relationship management skills with the ability to clearly communicate and influence at all levels

Solid understanding of the creative process and working closely with agency partners to deliver creative excellence.

A genuine passion for the customer which is demonstrated through all team outputs

Numerate, analytical and decisive

Strong commercial awareness and ability to manage and optimise budgets

Excellent presentation skills
