Ensure all aspects of Group Protection's (GP) products, processes and related product material comply with relevant legislation, taxation and regulatory requirements, including those of the FCA so that GP meets its responsibilities in these areas.  Continuously assess standards, processes and procedures to minimise the risk of regulatory censure or legal action.

  • Ensure all aspects of Group Protection's (GP) products, processes and related product material comply with relevant legislation, taxation and regulatory requirements, including those of the FCA so that GP meets its responsibilities in these areas.  Continuously assess standards, processes and procedures to minimise the risk of regulatory censure or legal action.
  • Provide a technical support function for the GP business unit, giving general and case specific guidance on products, taxation and legislative issues and market developments to ensure GP can provide an excellent service to its customers.
  • Develop new GP products and propositions as well as changes to existing products and propositions to ensure they are/remain competitive and appropriate for their target market and distribution channels.
  • Ensure products are launched and maintained in line with the Product Lifecycle Management standards so that the needs of the customers are met and in line with Legal & General’s Customer Experience and Treating Customers Fairly Policy.
  • Ensure promotional material and core literature provided to customers is technically correct, is clear, fair and not misleading and in accordance with Legal & General’s Standards and Treating Customer Fairly policies so as to enable our customers to make an informed decision about our products and services.
  • Support the Head of Product and Proposition manage all claims involving potential or actual litigation, ensuring that Legal & General’s interests (contractual, business relationships, public image etc.) are fully considered throughout.
  • Ensure issues are identified and addressed to ensure that customers are treated fairly in line with L&G’s Customer Experience and Treating Customers Fairly Policy.

The successful candidate will have good knowledge of Group Protection products and the legislation and regulation that applies to them.   They will have the skills to help manage new product and proposition developments, ensuring that:

  • required changes to terms and conditions are identified and implemented in a timely manner;
  • product risks are identified and controls implemented;
  • pricing, system and process changes are accounted for; and
  • value for money and target market is fully considered.

This is an excellent development oportunity for the right candidate with the potential to be promoted to the next level (Level 5) within 2-3 years .
