We are recruiting for a UK Supply Chain Manager within our GI Household Business Area, based in either our Birmingham office or Homebased, you will have expert knowledge on UK GI Supply Chain, and Lead the process of ensuring our business has the right and fit for purpose Supply Chain Network.

  • Work with key stakeholders to develop and implement Sourcing and SAM (Supplier Account Management) strategies for household claims categories that have the customer at the heart of their design and deliver the desired key business outcomes with supplier relationships built on the principles of transparency, fairness and aligned economic interests.
  • Lead the procurement process for sourcing for household claims categories that support and enable delivery of the defined strategy.
  • Regularly review existing supplier arrangements for household claims categories, with key stakeholders, to continually ensure that all supplier relationships deliver the desired key business and customer outcomes.  Continually working with suppliers to identify opportunities within the value stream to reduce costs and maximise GI’s customer service proposition.
  •  Maintain a commercial and market awareness of the household and claims categories supplier market to enable understanding of consumer needs, competitor activity, regulatory & legislative changes to ensure that GI supplier strategies remain relevant, compliant and leading edge to drive customer advocacy, fairness and competitive advantage.
  • Deliver an account management framework to manage supplier relationships in line with L&G’s Customer Experience and Treating Customers Fairly Policy, ensuring that contractual, financial, operational and regulatory requirements are being met at all times, and that other business strategic opportunities are identified and developed.
  •  Analyse feedback from all sources to ensure that customers’ and colleagues’ expectations of performance and service are met and where failings are identified systematically to establish the root cause and provide solutions that will prevent/mitigate potential recurrence and/or develop solutions to fill any identified gaps in our supply chain.
  • Establish robust and detailed contingency plans to ensure suitable alternative options are available and able to be implemented with minimal disruptions to the business and customers in the event of financial failure a supplier or withdrawal of services / contract termination.
  • Manage, motivate and develop employees in a manner that is consistent with the Company’s policies and processes including the Partnership Agreement to maximise the performance of the area.

Qualifications:

  • MCIPS and/or ACII/ACILA or equivalent preferred

Knowledge:

  • Broad understanding of principles of insurance - risk management and claims handling, compliance and regulatory issues, legislative influences, risk assessment, risk pricing and loss prevention techniques.
  • Broad knowledge of contract law applicable to supplier arrangements, licence agreements and distribution / product proposition arrangements.
  • Fully conversant with all relevant UK Ops, Group and Insurance policies and procedures, including corporate responsibility requirements.
  • Broad understanding of L&G Personal Lines
  • Understanding of L&G brand values, strategy, business plans and current performance levels.

Skills:

  • Relevant and proven experience in sourcing and / or supplier relationship management involving Personal Lines Insurance products and related services.
  • Excellent analytical skills from both an Operational and Financial perspective.
  • Proven ability in assessing risk qualitatively / quantitatively and defining risk mitigation options with different stakeholders.

Please note there will be an expectation to travel to the Birmingham Office frequently if home-based as many of your reports/key stakeholders are based there.
