We are recruiting for a PA/Business Manager to be based in our Coleman Street office, supporting the Managing Director of our Retirements business.

  • Responsible for the proactive management of the MD of LGRR’s diary, including the optimisation of time spent across different locations and of time spent travelling. Make the necessary travel and other logistic arrangements.
  • Responsible for the active management of the MD of LGRR’s email inbox – including proactively forwarding and delegating matters raised to the appropriate member of the Leadership team.
  • Ensure the collation of regular and customised administrative management information on a timely basis, supporting the completion of various MI reporting requirements for consideration by the senior management team, including making recommendations relating to courses of action and resolution of problems.
  • Plan, undertake and/or co-ordinate a variety of special projects involving internal and external research and liaison, on behalf of the MD of LGRR, working within the framework set in terms of schedule, tasks and budget.
  • Gather, collate, and circulate papers and documents prior to meetings with internal and external resources, including formulating agendas, taking minutes of relevant team, leadership and other meetings.
  • Facilitate liaison between MD of LGRR and other parties such that all requirements for papers presented at Divisional and Group Committees and Boards are approved, signed off and actively manage risks, actions and issues raised in the board and committee meetings.
  • Take responsibility for and manage the Communication & Engagement Objectives on behalf of the MD of LGRR and his Leadership Team by implementing and maintaining the Comms & Engagement Plan and initiating activity and initiatives across the whole LGRR team.
  • Priority Planning - Excellent organisation skills. Experience and ability to prioritise busy workload, work to importance and deadlines and to be flexible in a continuously changing environment. Understanding of business strategy and objectives, governance processes and inter-relationships between different areas of the organisation.
  • Judgement - Capable of dealing with all problems that arise in the MD of LGRR’s absence and be confident in making decisions on their behalf where appropriate. Seek proactive resolution and continuously suggest ways to improve existing processes and procedures.
  • Initiative - Capable of working alone and unguided, dealing with any situation that arises and doing all necessary advance work for the MD of LGRR to minimise their workload. Provide a consultative approach to the requirements of the MD of LGRR and with peers.
  • Accuracy - Demonstrate accuracy at all times, as the jobholder will often send out reports, papers and correspondence on behalf of the MD of LGRR.
  • Tolerance of Pressure - Flexible enough to cope with demands, deadlines and pressures and remain calm in role. Required to deal appropriately at director and senior executive level with relevant pressures.
  • Communication - Excellent interpersonal/communication skills at all levels, including a professional telephone manner and the ability to create a strong internal and external network.
  • Team work - The jobholder is required to work as part of a team, building up good relationships with not only the MD OF LGRR and their Leadership team(s) but also other groups within L&G and L&G Group, irrespective of location and including external contacts. Take a proactive approach to co-ordinating activity, assisting peers and sharing knowledge and expertise.
  • Networking - Full liaison with the Senior Leadership teams of L&G, the wider Group and their support staff as well as the Executives.
