Our areas of audit focus include credit risk, longevity risk, reinsurance, solvency II (the new Insurance capital standard), direct investments into infrastructure and other alternative assets, lifetime mortgages, benefit administration and the management and pricing of pension risk transfer transactions and individual annuities. From a finance perspective, we cover the Group Finance team, focusing on the key activities of a large listed insurer.

 

Reporting to, and under the general direction of the Head of Audit for Legal & General Retirement and Finance, this role requires the job holder to execute a programme of Internal Audit work.

Deliver the objectives of each audit in line with Legal & General’s GIA audit methodology and quality standards, and benchmarked against the standards of the Chartered Institute of Internal Auditors (CIIA).

Support the Group Chief Internal Auditor (GCIA) in fulfilling GIA’s primary role of supporting the Group Audit Committee and Executive Management in the protection of the assets, reputation and sustainability of Legal & General.

The successful candidate should be able to demonstrate strong audit skills, capability of delivering insightful findings and a commitment to our leading edge vision including data analytics.

Risk Management, Life Insurance, Asset manager and/or DB pensions experience would all be valuable but not critical.

Demonstrates core auditing skills including both oral and written communications

Negotiation.

Energetic and enthusiastic with a strong work ethic and commitment to high quality work.

Contributes purposeful, constructive scrutiny and challenge through sound, independent judgement and common sense.

Has an organised approach to managing workload and meets deadlines

Builds good working relationships with all colleagues and stakeholders  including mid-tier management.

Escalates and shares information appropriately

Displays tenacity and resilience in executing audits and resolving audit issues, while remaining objective.

Demonstrates an understanding of key risk areas when performing an audit.

Our view is that this role is suitable for agile working. This means we would consider a more flexible working arrangement, where your hours and work location are managed according to business, customer and personal needs. For this role, you would be based in Hove, but you could work in other Legal & General offices or at home, as necessary, provided this meets business needs.
